This book is quite expensive but the quality of the reproductions are of such high quality that it makes it well worthwhile. An earlier book on Churchill's paintings attempted to cover his entire work and a lot of the reproductions were too small to be satisfactory. In addition the captions are sensitive and very complimentary to the paintings. It is staggering to realize the scope and quality of Churchill's art. He was absolutely fearless and his mastery of colour and mood is stunning especially when one understands that in his spare time he saved the world from Fascism among other things. This book is certainly a keeper and I look forward to delving into it over and over again. Buy it without hesitation, you will love it.

This book shows 'the best of 539 paintings'--reads just like an art show catalogue. Would have made a better book to show 'lesser known' paintings and a bit about them. One glance through this book is more than enough. Put it on back shelf and forget it!
