Winter Meditations Paperback – October 1, 2016

4.8 4.8 out of 5 stars 15 ratings

Nature and winter. Depending on where you live, these two words may mean one thing: snow. Snow that makes it harder for you to get out of the house; snow that makes it harder for you to get your holiday chores done; snow that makes traveling treacherous. But what if that snow was an opportunity?

These weekly meditations let us reconnect with winter, a season that gives us an opportunity to stay in with family and friends; an opportunity to spend time outside the holiday rush; an opportunity to stay put and reconnect with God.

The final book in a series of four seasonal meditations books, Winter Meditations explores religious topics in the context of modern-day life. The twelve reflections in this book follow the rhythms of the winter season, helping you rediscover the beauty of a balanced, God-centered life.

Review

Fr. John Bartunek invites us to return to our roots with insightful and meditative reflections. Weaving together the personal style of memoir with the unifying universality of our faith, his book reminds us to embrace silence, be still, experience hope, know wisdom, recognize grace, and continue working on our relationship with God.

-- Daniel P. Horan, OFM ― Catholic Theological Union (Chicago), and author, God is Not Fair and Other Reasons for Gratitude Published On: 2016-08-29

This book invites you to lay aside your dread of winter and appreciate both its necessity in the natural world and its spiritual benefits.

-- Barb Szyszkiewicz, OFS, ― writer at FranciscanMom.com, editor of CatholicMom.com Published On: 2016-09-08
