What got me most about this book in the series were the official introductions of some gods from various pantheons. It was an insanely welcome surprise among a world I was all ready in love with. There's so much I wish I could say in this review, but I don't believe in spoilers. What I will say is this:
Get off your backsides and start reading this series immediately! These ARE the droids you're looking for! (Yes, I went there). I can honestly say I haven't been so attached to characters in a novel since the Vengeance of Avalon Series and Harry Potter. I've often found myself wondering what the characters are up to when I'm not reading, which to me is the mark of a masterfully created series. I honestly feel like these books should be the next big thing, and am surprised we haven't seen any solid information on optioned film rights! I'd be the first one in line to buy a ticket!
The author has a tendency to dwell on US civil war as creating more death and bad karma than other wars. While it killed a large percenatge of US population the absolute death count was trivial compared to WWI & WWII in Europe... But he knows his Civil War battles and if you are looking for death locations in US the Civil War is your best US bloodbath.

Fasten your seatbelt and open up some time, because once you start you'll have to keep right on going til the end. Non-stop rack and ruin is being dealt to the world and the villains are strong and getting stronger and now dark old gods. And surprises. Surprises everywhere.
Vesik does know how to party.
Great fun, as always, hats off to Eric once again. What a fun read.
First off, “Winter’s Demon,” is an edge of your seat, biting your nails, curse at the nearest object next to you, read. With each book there is a wealth of new layers to, Eric Asher’s characters. They are all subtle and flow so nicely you don't even realize till you are at the end and you are like, “damn that just happened!” The writing and storytelling are superb and flow at a pace that keeps you engaged. I have one quote that I would love to share but cannot. (I do not want to give too much away) Made my heart catch in my throat for what Damian’s future might entail and I seriously ache for the next installment of this phenomenal series.

These books are a fun read for me. There are enough twists and turns to keep things interesting, some are obvious and some not so much. Read morePublished 14 months ago by billsull
