What can I say, I'm absolutely addicted to Eric Asher's work. I just started the series a little less than two weeks ago and I've not been able to put them down! Book three of the Vesik series was a lot like the others, full of all the comedy, magic, and horror that I could ever want in a series! While we got to see the shop and check in on all of our favorite characters, we get introduced to some new characters and locations in this one that are quickly becoming new favorites!

What got me most about this book in the series were the official introductions of some gods from various pantheons. It was an insanely welcome surprise among a world I was all ready in love with. There's so much I wish I could say in this review, but I don't believe in spoilers. What I will say is this:

Get off your backsides and start reading this series immediately! These ARE the droids you're looking for! (Yes, I went there). I can honestly say I haven't been so attached to characters in a novel since the Vengeance of Avalon Series and Harry Potter. I've often found myself wondering what the characters are up to when I'm not reading, which to me is the mark of a masterfully created series. I honestly feel like these books should be the next big thing, and am surprised we haven't seen any solid information on optioned film rights! I'd be the first one in line to buy a ticket!

I enjoy the series, but the comedic moments always make me picture a sitcom -- the one-liner that everyone pauses for, then raucous laughter ensues. The other item that I can accept more is that Zola's accent is always portrayed with her saying "ah" instead of "I". This gets annoying when you're in the midst of reading a conversation if she has not spoken for a bit.

Urban fantasy - werewolves, fairies, vampires, demons and even a few gods. What more could you want? The hero Damien Vesik has a bit of an attitude and smart mouth which surprisingly has not gotten him turned into ash at some point. You really need to read the series in order to follow what is going on. Even then I had to check to make sure I was reading the stories in order as author has a tendency to start in the middle and to refer to things that already happened with insufficient background for the reader. Perhaps there is a series of short stories which fill in the blanks I missed or the author intended to include these background, then edited them out. A good continuity editor would help. Overall somewhat reminiscent of the "Bill the Vampire" series by Rick Gualtieri.

The author has a tendency to dwell on US civil war as creating more death and bad karma than other wars. While it killed a large percenatge of US population the absolute death count was trivial compared to WWI & WWII in Europe... But he knows his Civil War battles and if you are looking for death locations in US the Civil War is your best US bloodbath.

Eric Asher has done it again! I already LOVED Vesik and, if possible, this book made me love him all the more! He is everything you want in a leading character…irreverent, strong, not afraid to say WTH and a SUPER sense of humor! He is the man I want saving my world from whatever nefarious plots the dark gods are planning. This installment is action-packed. I could not put it down. An amazing plot with strong characters, villains I love to hate, and the coolest critters ever written. Eric has the amazing ability to make even the simplest things fascinating. His story-telling skills are FANTASTIC. A real treat to read. So many twists and turns and the action starts on the first page. Family is everything and Vesik is out to protect his at all costs. This is a MUST READ! 5 Fangs! Would give it more if I could! Eric keep ‘em coming!

Vesik is back with his ever expanding motley krew of masters of mayhem to deal havoc on the black forces of the dark necromancers.
Fasten your seatbelt and open up some time, because once you start you'll have to keep right on going til the end. Non-stop rack and ruin is being dealt to the world and the villains are strong and getting stronger and now dark old gods. And surprises. Surprises everywhere.
Vesik does know how to party.
Great fun, as always, hats off to Eric once again. What a fun read.

“Some things can never be undone” and in this latest installment of the, “Vesik Series,” I will have to agree. Philip Pinkerton has brought war upon this world and the body count keeps on rising higher. Will Damien and his loved ones survive?

First off, “Winter’s Demon,” is an edge of your seat, biting your nails, curse at the nearest object next to you, read. With each book there is a wealth of new layers to, Eric Asher’s characters. They are all subtle and flow so nicely you don't even realize till you are at the end and you are like, “damn that just happened!” The writing and storytelling are superb and flow at a pace that keeps you engaged. I have one quote that I would love to share but cannot. (I do not want to give too much away) Made my heart catch in my throat for what Damian’s future might entail and I seriously ache for the next installment of this phenomenal series.
