Winter is actually the name of the drop dead gorgeous, platinum haired hottie who along with the rest of Tara's sexy Lupine's (and one slinky, sex on a stick feline), make up the ongoing cast of this extremely likeable series. I just love these wolves and their hard won quests to win their mates, usually while dealing with some nut job in the background threatening to take it all away from them...or kill them...Eeek!
We've had Hot Alpha, but sweet natured, Cole and his Purrrrrfect Paris (RAWR!!! Still adore that sensuously slinky pussy cat!), Luscious, lavender loving Lindsey and his gruff, sexy human cop hubby Seth and now we've been treated to her new WOWZER! wolf of the moment Winter and his gorgeous man, Matt the eye catching FBI agent who gets his blood pumping to body parts that constantly show his 'appreciation' (cough)...no guessing what appendage that is! LOL...
As a couple Winter and Matt are pretty combustible. Two gorgeous men in utter lust to begin with...but simmering beneath the need to want to rip each other's clothes off whenever they're within clothes ripping distance of each other, always the feeling that something special is happening between them; they have a passionate hot one minute, cold the next type of relationship - mainly on Matts side - which is put under further pressure by more than one mitigating factor.Read more ›
Winter Thane is an unpolished, yet knowledgeable young man, home educated by his single father and not least - a strong wolf. Damon Thane drags his highly reluctant son from the wilds of Canada to Connecticut and the pack Damon once belonged.
There Winter finds out that his father has deceived him. His surname is not what he had been taught, he has family he knew nothing about - and the were world does not work as he thought. There is no excuse in the fact that his father did not know a thing or two either.
Matt Partridge has a serious concern, besides the drugs flooding the community. It is his father's increasing health problems, a condition that Matt seems to have inherited. They are increasingly restless every time the moon is full.
There are rotten eggs in most baskets and the suspense in this story reveals the cunning villain in their midst.
The solution to the problems is absolutely brilliant. If the old packs won't accept that the laws sometimes should not apply, a new pack can be established - especially if you are rich enough to own a large estate.
Winter is a wolf used to being isolated with his Dad, Damon, in Canada where he's lived his whole life. When Damon "suddenly" decides that they need to rejoin the pack, Winter adapts a wait and see approach. Within days of rejoining his father's old pack, he finds all kinds of secrets and undercurrents within the pack and his father.
The one bright spot is meeting FBI agent Matt Partridge. Matt is investigating the influx of drugs in town. He doesn't trust his contacts in town too much, feeling that they're hiding something. He mets Winter and the attraction is very mutual. Neither can stay away from each other, but Matt blows hot and cold on Winter.
Winter is a strong werewolf who is very intelligent. Many people in this book underestimate him. Matt is trying to do his job and keep up with his familial responsibilities. Neither is looking to find a partner, but they will need each other for their survival.
I loved the mystery. I loved the way Winter handled all the intrigue and changes in his life. I could totally understand how Matt felt about his situation, and I'm glad he got a resolution that was better than anything he ever expected.
Winter Thane is young, intelligent, beautiful and has been brought up off the grid. I bring this up because it affects how he reacts to pack life and laws. FBI agent Matt Partridge has issues of his own. He thinks his father is going insane and he may not be far behind. That doesn’t stop the instant attraction between Matt & Winter but it does contribute to how they treat each other.
I really enjoyed this book. Winter’s take on the world was truly interesting and Matt’s situation had me in tears. This may be my favorite addition to this series. This book can be read standalone but you will definitely get more out of it if you have read the previous two books.
Looking forward to the next one as I enjoyed the ending of this one and where the author took the series.

Love and the law.
A sexy who done it story.
Great addition to the Harker pack line up.
It is a gay werewolf romance novel, but is very well done. I never felt myself cringing or skipping ahead and the characters were well discernible and likable.Published 16 months ago by Amazon Customer
