The Heroine is an anomaly. She is the head of a computer systems business, supposedly based on her business and people skills. However, she is incredibly naive, trusting and unable to tell when a man is interested in her. That is counterintuitive. The failure to recognize people's motivations doesn't fit with the business acumen required by her job. Furthermore, if a man had "followed" a woman he admired in the same fashion as she followed the Hero, he would be called a stalker. The concept is excused because the Hero is a celebrity. She is, however, extremely likeable, and for all her fussing and self-doubt, you want her to succeed.
The Hero is a celebrity computer nerd, who has been a playboy, but is ready to settle down. Fortunately, this author gets it, and has him demonstrate this fact PRIOR to meeting the Heroine, rather than fostering the incorrect idea that "he just met the right woman".
The story is fast paced. The villain will not surprise many readers, though I think the author was going for a shock. I totally enjoyed this romp and highly recommend the book.
Evan met Paige in a bar and they spent the night together. Six months later he is working with her to try and figure out who is using teenagers to kill.
Scary how these stories are so true to what really is happening in this world. Hope you like it as much as I did
I paid full price for the Amazon Kindle version and this is my honest and unbiased review.
Pierce Security, with all its hunky men, continues to be entertaining and memorable. However, I think Simon’s rules suck, can’t wait for his book so he can break them too. Looking forward to finding out what is up with Miriam.
I’m a smart reader and most mysteries I solve long before the book does, so it was no surprise when I called it early on. It didn’t detract from the story or my enjoyment of it.
