I am using this - in conjunction with a DICE ipod connection kit - to get bluetooth audio in my car - a 2004 BMW M3. The DICE kit can be set up either as a dumb middleman or to give control of your ipod through the car's headunit and steering wheel controls. This works great when set up as a dumb middleman. The DICE unit essentially hooks up to the CD changer harness in your trunk and makes your ipod pretend to be a cd changer. I have this hooked up so that I select the cd changer on my head unit, it powers up this bluetooth doggle, and then automatically pairs to my iphone. I then can control everything through my iphone and the music comes through my car's sound system (and sounds great!)
My car also had a bluetooth phone, which works in conjunction with this doggle. It is a different bluetooth connection, but the phone can handle both at at the same time.
This item comes with very little packaging or instructions. The code is "0000" - so if you have ever set up a bluetooth link before, it should be pretty straight forward.
This worked great for me. I am very happy with the purchase.
The doggle itself is very small and has a female 30 pin connector on one end and a small blue light on the other end. The blue light can be annoying, but I have mine hooked up inside my center armrest - so I never see it.
Using the Sounddock, got the dreaded 60-cycle hum whenever ANY devices was connected via Bluetooth; the sound bled into the music at lower volumes and was most annoying. Dead-on fail for the Bose.
Read other reviews and decided to try it in my car using a Monster FM transmitter Monster MON129363 FM-CH iPod/iPhone iCarPlay Wireless 800 FM Transmitter (Discontinued by Manufacturer). This worked just fine without a hum to be heard.
SUMMARY: This device 'can' work, but whether it 'will' must be determined device-by-device. Will update if any issues with longevity arise.
Unfortunately, it had a dreaded intermittent problem where the Bluetooth connection dropped and reestablished itself about five times during my first test run driving around town.
As noted in other reviews, it did not work with the Sony ICF-CS15iP Dream Machine iPod dock. If I were to guess, it seems to only support the iPod analog audio interface.
After reading negative reviews about not working on some Bose portable systems, I decided to give it a try due to its low price. I also have other ipod connectors in my car.
It worked the first time on Bose soundock portable without doing anything else than a simple pariing (the password is "0000", four zeroes in a row).
It also worked perfect on my car ipod connector, so now instead of hooking the ipod/iphone to the cable, I plug this wireless connector. It helps people on the back of the car to share the music as well on long trips.

Hope this review helps on your decision.
I was getting ready to return this item when I remembered I had an old docking station that was very basic - it did not offer any remote control functionality of the phone from the dock itself - like most docking stations do ( see below ).
The old dock is an Altec Lansing iMT325 - it has an off and on switch, and a volume control - that's it.
I plugged this device in and it immediately worked and sounded great. Clearly the other reviewer who mentioned that this device will only work with older, basic docking stations.was absolutely correct.
I've been listening to it for several hours and it supports reception a good range from the phone, (20 feet or more), sounds great and is a good value for the money. Based on this I am updating my one star rating to a three star rating. The device is great for docking stations that can use it, but it really should be specified in the details of the item that it only works with docking stations that are basic in nature. If you can change songs or pause the music from the docking station, this device WILL NOT work.

Disappointing - I purchased two of these devices for both of my children. They look to be very well-made and lit up when plugged into the docking stations, synced via Bluetooth to my iPhone and iPad with no problem at all.
Unfortunately that was all that the devices would do. In spite of being paired with my iPhone the devices would not play a sound on any of the docking stations I tried.
I attempted to use two different Cybertek adapter with two different IHome docking stations, model IP 43. No luck at all.
I attempted to use the Cybertek adapter with an Altec Lansing docking station model M202. Unfortunately again it did do a thing but light up.
Just to be sure it wasn't related to my Apple devices I attempted to use an Android device which also paired to the unit with no problem but again would not play any sound on the docking station.
Another reviewer on here has noted that these devices work well with simple docking stations that do not have any remote controls for your iPad or iPhone or Android device. Perhaps that is the case. Unfortunately I do not have any such devices to test with.
I had high hopes for the Cybertek adapter and was hoping it would make a good surprise for my children. If your docking station has any sort of remote control for your mobile device in all likelihood this device will not work.
