About the Author
Sensei Morris Sekiyo Sullivan first became interested in Buddhism and meditation as a teenager in the 1970s and studied philosophy, religion and psychology in college before receiving his MBA from Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida. After exploring Zen and some Tibetan practices, he studied meditation and ordained for a monastic retreat at a Thai Theravada monastery. He then took a nonsectarian approach as a dharma teacher and was inducted as a Sensei in the Bright Dawn Center for Oneness Buddhism. Sensei Sullivan lives in DeLand, Florida where he leads Volusia Buddhist Fellowship meetings, meets with inmates at Tomoka Correctional Institution and speaks regularly at Unitarian Universalist churches in Florida.

I often have tried to read about Buddhism and failed to grasp the message. The recitations of monks' stories left me wondering, not understanding. Sullivan cut through the haze and helped me grasp how these practices and ideas can work in day-to-day, or moment-to-moment living.
