Wisdom on How to Live Life (Book 5): Transforming Earth into Heaven Paperback – July 24, 2012
Wisdom on How to Live Life (Book 5) is the sixth conversation between Tom and Guru Harry. Some of the topics covered include how to enjoy a better life, how to know your life's vocation, how to impact the world positively, best advice to give future generations, lessons on forgiveness and helpfulness. I almost wished Guru Harry wasn't a fictionalized character but was a real guru because I believed in a lot of what he had to share. I think the interview style is a creative way to present this book and I liked the ideas and suggestions.

This book contains five chapters and two appendices. Chapter 1 is the introduction and listed 50 points that are being discussed in the book. Some of the points are highlighted in this review. Chapter 2 is mainly about beliefs and the effect of money on people: "The fine line between heaven and hell is in the belief". This is followed by: "the rich are using money to boast their ego and to gain power". Then questions like: "the super rich, they still want more money"? Guru Harry leads Tom though the use of simple questions and answers, reinforcing his sensible answers and questioning him when there is any doubt. Tom wins through the conversation.
In Chapter 3, Guru Harry explains how we go through life accumulating possessions and having a family, which is later followed by the gradual loss of all those items. But when we die we take with us our soul in our reincarnated being.
In choosing a job Harry leads Tom to realising that there are many factors to consider such as taking responsibility, being able to work on our own and above all to like the work we are doing. In that way it ceases to be work. Money too is important but not as a means to power but enabling us to fulfil ourselves spiritually. The Great Masters of thought have much power but little if any money. To enable the whole world to have the means to live the gap between rich and poor must become much smaller than at present.
In Chapter 4, Harry gives advice about looking after our money, a topic which is very pressing in many parts of the world. So Heaven on Earth will come when we have become masters of our money and not its slave, and we have enough to retire on. Harry spends some time explaining the best ways to invest our money, but for some people who have so little, this part of the book is not relevant.
Chapter 5 is on the theme of the soul and how the important part of us all is the soul and following death our soul continues. Harry shows Tom that when we have dreams our soul is active while our body is resting. By accepting that our soul is the most important part of being human we can then be free to be kind to others and be charitable without any thought of thanks or reward. In that way Heaven can be on Earth.
In the two appendices, Appendix A tells the tale of a man on a beach tossing starfish back into the water so that they may live, and its effects on humbling a professor. Appendix B shows us that accepting our lot and not aiming to make more and more money is really worthwhile since we may come back to our humble but peaceful way of life where we started out from in the first place.
We could all benefit from reading Wisdom Book 5 and reflecting on how we can apply it to our own and other people's lives. It is uplifting and gives us hope for the future.
