Product Description

WiseHIC Humidity Indicator Card is a kind of accurate and convenient humidity testing means and precisely shows the humidity rate in a closed environment, designed especially for industrial use. It has a wide moisture test range and the color on indicating point is reversible.

Through the color change of the indicating dots on the card, it is easy to clearly observe the relative humidity inside the packaging. It is only simple in operation, but also low in cost, making it an important auxiliary tool for moisture proof packaging. In order to meet different requirements, Wisepac has developed varieties of humidity indicators.

Conforms to MIL-I-8835A Standard

Based on military standards, select qualified fiber paper to ensure valid indicating time of HIC card. Paper should be clearly printed, free of stain and breakage.

Obvious Color Change (Blue to Pink)

Blue to Pink color change is very apparent. Manage the quality if raw material strictly and test each batch to ensure every card absorb enough reagent, in order to show color changes more accurately. Specialized formula for reagent to ensure the accuracy of the indicating.

Reversible Color On Indicating Point & High Accuracy at ±5%

6 points (10%~60%, 10%/20%/30%/40%/50%/60% RH). Detects a wide range of humidity rates from very low to very high, evenly and fully dipped in the printed circle. It has a wide moisture test range and the color on indicating point is reversible. The indicators do return back to blue once the humidity drops below the applicable value. Accurate, able to detect relative humidity within ±5%.

Flat and compact, easy to use anywhere. This product can be applied into different packaging, e.g, steel, metals, machinery, diagnostic reagent, electronic parts and biological etc.

When the relative humidity is less than 5% of the indicated value of the surface, the spot should be blue; when the relative humidity is greater than the indicated value of the surface, the spot should be pink.

How to use

The Humidity Indicator Card will calibrate and respond within half an hour to read the humidity level. If 10% dot is pink, 30% dot is blue, and 20% dot is lavender, then the humidity level is about 15%. If the 3rd dot from the left gets a hint of discolor, it's time to replace or recharge gel packs in the oven.

The size of each one Humidity Indicator Card is 1.5" x 4 ".

  • Obvious Color Change (Blue to Pink)
  • Reversible Color On Indicating Point & High Accuracy at ±5%
  • Conforms to MIL-I-8835A Standard
  • Compact & Flflat Card Shape Design
  • Help To Check And Keep The Humidity

How to reuse?

No need to do anything. They will turn to blue when humidity level is low, and the dots will change from blue to pink when the humidity level is high. They should be replaced every 6 months to 1 year, as the chemical they use does degrade over time and the results become less accurate.

Lot of Uses

Great way to keep track of the humidity to know when its time to recharge the desiccant dry packs. Work with the desiccant to monitor moisture content in any enclosed / sealed storage space such as military surplus ammo cans, ammo cans, ammo boxes, tool box, 3d printer filament sealed plastic storage box, jewelry box, weapon case, leather clothing closet, storage bins, submarine photograph equipment dry box, phone case, sealed clear plastic totes, etc

hic9

These humidity indicator cards are great for an instant visual feedback on relative humidity for all sorts of electronics, chemicals, projects, etc. and cheap enough to throw in whatever you need to monitor: gun storage, drawers and my jewelry cabinet, safe, ammo cans, 3D printer filament storage containers, firearms cases, and any sealed containers that has a desiccant bag in.

hic10

It will take a while for the dots to change color and the number above that dot will tell you the relative humidity and moisture levels in an enclosed space. Blue means no humidity. If all the dots are reading pink, the humidity is above 60% and the desiccants don't seem to be working.

hic11

Easy to monitor moisture content, read the moisture level, and maintain the perfect humidity environment without opening the enclosures to tell you whether you need to replace the silica gel pack or not by a quick glance inside.

Really faint color dots makes it challenging to differentiate, but are safer for the environment

Really faint color dots makes it challenging to differentiate, but are safer for the environment
These indicator cards are the best and cheapest way to measure very low humidity (dry conditions below 30%RH). The inexpensive humidity gages available elsewhere aren't accurate and won't read below 25%RH, so they won't work. These Cobalt Dichloride free cards can be somewhat difficult to read and have a faint color shift from pink to blue, but they are better for the environment. Standard cards are also available that contain Cobalt Dichloride and are easier to read, but should be handled with care. Tough choice, I'm still trying to get adjusted to these and don't know what my preference is. The attached shot was in open air with 48%RH.

When I opened the sealed package of humidity indicators from Wisesorb, the indicator dots should have been all blue. Instead they ran from pink to lavender to blue, meaning they had been exposed to moisture. So rather than send them back to Amazon, I tried putting one into a filament dryer and warming it up to about 48C/118F for several hours. The indicator dots turned back to blue again. The rest of them have now been in the heater for 8 hours and still need to go longer. So unless you have a filament dryer or dehydrator......beware buying this brand from Amazon.
