Just For This Moment (book #5):
I have followed Kait Nolan's Wishful series. I have waited for this book since Piper & Myles met while saving the beloved theater. I never expected how they ended up married. But it does sound just like something Piper would do!
This book had me smiling through almost the whole thing. Kait Nolan's characters really come to life. Her small town setting of Wishful is just delightful and really pulls all her characters together. I can't get enough of her books!
Wish I Might (book #5):
Cecily is a marketing genius trying to make her mark on the world. Reed owns the local bookstore and he's trying to figure out where he screwed up with Cecily. What Reed doesn't know is that Cecily is uber wealthy. Too bad the college sweetheart that broke his heart had a boatload of money too. It sorta colored his opinion on socialites. Cecily has resumes out all over the country and could leave at any time. Reed is content to say in Wishful and turn his shop into the heart of the community. There is definite chemistry between them. But the question remains: Can they get past their problems and come together? More importantly - can they manage to stay together?
Being a lover of small town romances I can't get enough of this series! Kait Nolan has created the perfect little town with fabulous quirky characters. Using a combo of wit and insight she is able to write amazing books.
Turn My World Around (book #6):
ByE. Eblinon March 30, 2018
Turn My World Around is book #6 in Kait Nolan's Wishful Romance series.
Tucker McGee has always been the steady, down to earth, dependable guy. He's been the one guy in his group of friends that has never had a significant other. It has begun to be something he longs for....a partner in life. He has had his eye on someone for the past year, but hasn't tried to approach her.
Corinne recently moved back to Wishful with her young son, after divorcing her abusive husband. She is a totally different person now than she use to be. Before she left Wishful, she was THAT girl. The mean girl. The one who will tear anyone down and stomp on them to get what she wants. Life taught her a lot & she has returned as a new person. Only thing is most people in Wishful are stuck in the past so much that they are unable to see how much of a different person she is now.
Then through a series of matchmaking attempts, putting himself out there, and a need to raise money for the women's shelter - Corinne finds herself paired with Tucker to help the town of Wishful. But in helping Wishful Corinne finds herself getting a lot more than she bargained for. She has intense personal growth that leads to more self discovery. But will all this personal growth help her bond more to Tucker, or breaking away to find her own way?
I always read one of Kait Nolan's books and then gush about how good it was and that she has outdone herself...etc. This time I am almost speechless. This particular book moved me in a way none of the other books ever have. Having once been in an abusive relationship I could relate to Corinne in a way I haven't with the other characters. It was like Kait Nolan was inside my head while she wrote this book. I had an emotionally abusive parent similar to Corinne's parents, as well. So this book felt more personal, more real to me. Everything that Ms. Nolan wrote was pretty much spot-on. I had to read this book twice because the first read I spent more time relating what I read to what I had lived. I needed to work my way through it. It was an unexpected book. Yet, it was an amazing book. The emotions were real. The internal struggles were spot-on. I honestly have to say this book is by far the absolute best-est book I have read from the Wishful series. I know Corinne was supposed to be the hated character that becomes the beloved character. I couldn't help but feel for her from the very beginning. Regardless of how she acted as a teen I could see her struggle and pain underneath her actions. Much like Tucker did! I love the series, but this book is my #1 favorite Kait Nolan book. Definitely a must read!!!
If you love small town romances full of humor, good friends, personal dilemmas, down home cooking, gossipy neighbors, unending support, multiple matchmaker, and lots of real life situations, but all with happy endings...Then this series is for you! Each book is better than the one before. Each book pulls you deeper into this amazing small town, making you wish that you could live there. Wish that you could have a small part of those characters lives. As imperfect as they can be, because everywhere you turn you will find a friendly, supportive face waiting to help you. So grab both Wishful Romance Volumes 1 & , then grab your coffee or tea, get comfy, and dig in for a chance to lose yourself in these quirky, life like characters with their mixed up crazy lives. You won't regret it!
I received an ARC of this Volume of books. I have voluntarily decide to leave my review in support of these books.
Just For This Moment
I just love this Wishful series. I have to confess that I have not read them in order, but that has not been a problem. Myles Stewart fell for Piper Parish in a previous book when they were in the play White Christmas together. Piper had a rule that she wouldn’t date someone she was in a play with for 90 days after the end of the play. She figured if she was still crazy about the guy, and he waited on her, then they had a chance for a relationship. Ninety days are up and Myles asks Piper out. Miles bought the local paper against his father’s wishes. Miles had an investor to help with the money and now the investor wants out and his money in 90 days. The only way he can get the money is to marry and get money from his trust fund. Miles tells Piper about this one night and she suggests the two of them get married so he can get the money. The craziness begins, but it is always crazy fun around Piper!
I so enjoyed this book. Piper’s nephew Preston was a sweetheart and funny. Both Piper and Miles had quirky families that caused trouble. I strongly encourage you to read the book.
Wish I Might
If you read “To Get To Me” you would have met Norah Burke who Cecily Dixon worked for in Chicago. She came to Wishful when Norah moved down. Cecily works hourly for Norah until she can find the job she wants. She had an ex use her and steal money from a foundation she set up (her family has money and she has a trust fund). Cecily was heartbroken, embarrassed, mad, and felt like she let her family down. She doesn’t let people she meets know she is from a rich family. She met Reed Campbell who owns a bookstore and was born and bred in Mississippi. They were getting along well until he unknowingly puts his foot in his mouth when he talks down about rich people. Only because he had an ex fiancé that was only after money. Cecily begins to ignore Reed. Of course Reed has no idea what he did.
It was funny how Cecily tried to keep her secret about coming from a rich family from everyone. It was so clear that Reed was not the kind of person who would be after Cecily only for her money. Unfortunately Cecily beat herself up so much and lost confidence in her choice of men. Cecily was a good, hard worker and the people of town loved her. Reed and Cecily had some ups and downs that they had to get through. I enjoyed the book and suggest you should read it. I was given this set to read, and voluntarily read it and reviewed.
Turn My World Around
I loved this story! Corinne Dawson was the queen of mean girls when she was in high school. Needless to say that there were not many good memories of her by the people she went to school with. She is back in Wishful with her five year old son after a divorce. She is a changed person, but not many people want to give her a chance. She is working at the diner, going to nursing school, and working at the hospital that is required before her degree. Tucker McGee was one of the only persons who saw a different side of Corinne in high school. He had a crush on her in high school that no one knew about. He is a lawyer in town and has a broken marriage in his past that not many people know about. Norah is putting on a fund raiser for the Abused Women’s Center in Wishful. This is Dancing With Wishful and has couples from some of the businesses. Momma Pearl at the Diner is approached by Tucker to participate and be his partner. She agrees, but something happens and Corinne has to take her place.
It is so hard in a small town to prove you have changed. I felt so bad for Corinne when I found out why she was a mean girl in school and what happened in her marriage. No one should ever have to go through what she did. You can’t help but love Tucker on how patient he is and how he builds people up, especially Corinne. I felt bad that Corinne didn’t think she was good enough for Tucker. This was a great book that touched on a couple of hard issues. I strongly encourage you to read this set. I was given this set and voluntarily read it and wrote a review.
