These are just about one of the handiest items to have, hanging on your belt. They come in handy for so many things. Cutting tape,
stripping wire, opening cartons, trimming patterns, etc., etc. They last forever. They are for the installer or Controls Technician, as is a hammer holster is for a Carpenter.......

These scissors are my little secret. I use them for many things around the house. I cut heavy duty materials like carpet and light duty things like rags as well. I hardly ever use them for their intended purpose. In my opinion, Wiss scissors are the gold standard for electricians scissors. In the past I could cut real copper pennies with them--they are tough.

Most of the early years of my "Ma Belle" 30+ year career (Linesman, Cable Repairman, Splicer), the good mother (Ma Bell) provided us with Weiss 175 E3's. After the corporation came along, they started handing out JUNK.
ANYWAY.....
These new 175E's have the same narrow tips without those pesky grab the wire stripping notches. If you need to get into the core of a cable to SNIP, or need to strip insulation with a twist of the wrist? DONE.
Non-serrated, non bowed blades, you can hone them, make them last for years and years and years!!
There's a lot of scissors out there, but none fit in the palm of your hand like a good pair of "snips".
THESE ARE EXCELLENT SNIPS

My mom had these scissors since I can remember, and I am in my mid 30s! These scissors are the best around. Other scissors that I bought do not come up to par. I was so glad I was able to find our longtime household scissors online. I bought 2 pairs!

As an IT professional, I have owned a pair of these for several years now. They are well built, and the perfect size for trimming COAX cable shielding for termination or snipping network wiring ends from keystone jacks. I liked them enough to purchase two more pairs for the multiple tool bags I have. Great product, highly recommended.

I bought these scissors to cut through cate5e cable as well as strip the coating off of those cables. I have to try three times to make a cut, leaving it jagged and crooked. I also have to put a lot of pressure into stripping off the coating, and I've nicked the copper wires more than once when the jacket finally gives way. They're very solid scissors, and I can probably sharpen them, but I definitely won't buy them in the future.

I bought these to strip jackets and cut wires. There are 3 difficulties when using them that all combine to turn me away: the amount of force required, the small uncomfortable handle, and the wires slipping away instead of cutting.

It is a struggle to get these to cut category or speaker wires. They aren't sharp or serrated, and when you squeeze it pushes the wires away from the cutting action instead of cutting the wires. Because of that you can't really strip wires or twisted pairs They can't cut 10 awg copper ground wire even using full power from both hands to squeeze. I wouldn't use them for that anyway but my old pair of scissors could with 1 hand. These things wouldn't cut through the plastic band of my old ear plugs, they just push away the object you want to cut. About the only things I could cut easily were soft things like paper, felt, rubber and thin plastic. If you wanted to cut those things, there are way more comfortable shears with smoother action.

I tested these for about a half hour and haven't even bothered doing any real work because my ideal V-notch wire strippers are simple, lightweight, sharp, and are 10 times the tool for 1/2 the price.

These scissors will cut any thing a person has the strength to handle without damage to he blades.

Telephone companies used these for years and when ever they would buy cheaper scissors, the other brands would not hold up to daily use.
