stripping wire, opening cartons, trimming patterns, etc., etc. They last forever. They are for the installer or Controls Technician, as is a hammer holster is for a Carpenter.......
These new 175E's have the same narrow tips without those pesky grab the wire stripping notches. If you need to get into the core of a cable to SNIP, or need to strip insulation with a twist of the wrist? DONE.
Non-serrated, non bowed blades, you can hone them, make them last for years and years and years!!
There's a lot of scissors out there, but none fit in the palm of your hand like a good pair of "snips".
THESE ARE EXCELLENT SNIPS
It is a struggle to get these to cut category or speaker wires. They aren't sharp or serrated, and when you squeeze it pushes the wires away from the cutting action instead of cutting the wires. Because of that you can't really strip wires or twisted pairs They can't cut 10 awg copper ground wire even using full power from both hands to squeeze. I wouldn't use them for that anyway but my old pair of scissors could with 1 hand. These things wouldn't cut through the plastic band of my old ear plugs, they just push away the object you want to cut. About the only things I could cut easily were soft things like paper, felt, rubber and thin plastic. If you wanted to cut those things, there are way more comfortable shears with smoother action.
I tested these for about a half hour and haven't even bothered doing any real work because my ideal V-notch wire strippers are simple, lightweight, sharp, and are 10 times the tool for 1/2 the price.
Telephone companies used these for years and when ever they would buy cheaper scissors, the other brands would not hold up to daily use.

These are the best electricians scissors made. Same ones Bell System used for many years before they switched to the cheaper ones.Published 7 months ago by JasonB
It is just my own ignorance overlooking the detail and assuming that all WISS snips had cable strippers. Needless to say, these ones don't. Read morePublished on June 10, 2014 by Eric John Caldwell Jr.
