Lily Paris is a young witch trying to have a positive influence on the world around her. She uses her power in the moonlight to fly around and rescue citizens from a cruel revolutionary who is attacking them. She saves the kings son and obtains his favor. The enemy tirelessly pursues her. In the midst of the conflict she brings her dead lesbian lover (and others) back to life by replacing the souls of people around her with theirs.
The hero of the book kills many people to get what she wants. I can't tell if the author is portraying these murders (kicking living souls out of their own bodies) as a necessary evil that Lily remains innocent of. I find it creepy.
At least Lily is trying to use her abilities to save lives.
I don't recommend this book for anyone. It blurs the lines of morality by portraying a self gratifying, sexually selfish witch as the "good" person, praised by the multitudes and favored by the king.
This book shows that there is a wonderful series here that is perfect for tv, but I am thrilled to have the book first! (incase tv screws it up ;))
