Long ago four vampires were cursed by an evil witch but magic saved them and now suddenly the youngest, Chandler is thrust hundreds of years into the present. Once Chandler gets his bearings, he vows to find his siblings but in the meantime, Chandler has to figure out how to survive in this modern age, after all, it won't do to be discovered sucking blood from a human - in any time period.

A six month sting operation at a strip club has yet to yield any arrests but Det. Jana Harris and her partner Mike know that very soon they will catch owner John Collins with stolen art work. It won't be soon enough for Jada, she is sick and tired of twirling around a pole nearly naked in front of a bunch of drooling men.

When Chandler slips into the club he is immediately entranced by the woman up on the stage and plans to have her body and blood before morning light. A case of mistaken identity gives Chandler the opportunity of seeing Jada again, and then fate steps in and takes a hand when Chandler learns that his master is also in town and Johannes is pure evil. Somehow Chandler must help Jada close her case without revealing his true nature, while protecting her from Johannes and certain death.

In The Witch and the Vampire series, Chandler searches for a way to accept what he is and the possibility of love at first sight in a modern age. His lack of `manners' towards women is understandable given the era he came from but Jada's continual acceptance of his boorish ways is improbable. The storyline of vampires, lady cops and thieves is a great idea but there are way too many coincidences such as Chandler's look alike that let down what could have been a more realistic tale. Chandler has lots of hot sex and a good story idea but everything comes together just a bit too easily and stretches credibility too much.

I had this book on my wish list for a long time before I finally gave in. I hesitated because it seemed a bit pricey, but I thought it would be worth the price tag. I was wrong. The price of one of the stories via Kindle really should've been the kindle price for all four books together, like the print version. The stories themselves were all right, but not great. In comparison, when I read the first of Jaid Black's Trek series, I couldn't put it down. I wanted to be in the story and experience everything from the heroine's point of view. I could not feel a connection with this story. The stories seemed very rushed and didn't transition smoothly. Another problem was the numerous errors throughout the book. You know it's bad when you are tempted to read with a highlighter just so you can tally the number of errors in the book which seems a little more interesting than the story itself. It's worth the read if you can pay a cheaper price, but as is, don't waste your time.

The story/writing was good and concept a solid one. Where this book fell short was the sex scenes. They were coarse and poorly written. They honestly reminded me of a couple if teens rutting in the back seat if a car instead of a grown 28 year old women making love to a century old vampire who, consequently, should know what he is doing by now.

Overall did I like the book? Yes. Will I read it again? No. Will I finish the series? Yes, but only because I got all 4 books for free from my Aunt, otherwise I would have probably stopped after this first book.

Fawn Lowery did a supurb job of developing characters and writing scorching hot sex scenes! The Witch And The Vampire: Books 1, 2, 3 and 4 was an erotic journey of mind and spirit with writing that was intense and fast paced. I recommend this book to anyone who likes paranormal/fantasy/vampire novels. It was a wonderful read!
