Series: This is basically a short spin off story telling you how The Wolf and The Vampire Met
Note: This book does have an ending but you will also want to continue on in the series.
Author: A K Michaels
This is my review of The Beginning which is another book in the : The Witch, The Wolf and The Vampire Series. I got this book free in exchange for an honest review. This is the prequel explanation of a great world and it can be read as a standalone with no cliffhanger ending, it is the whole story. Be warned though you will not want to stop with just this one book and you will want to know the whole series and will want to run right to to the main series. The book moves at a good pace and keeps you interested. I love all of the books by A K Michaels and this one is no different.
If you have not read the main series that is fine. This book basically tells you how Josef (The Vampire), meets and becomes good friends with Gabriel (The Wolf). Josef is an old vampire that keeps to himself and only has his one vampire around that he sired and taught (this is the vampire that you will meet again in another series). One night while on his way home he smells blood, a lot of it, and realizes that the Wolf that it belongs to will never survive the amount of blood loss. For some reason Josef is forced to stop and rescue the wolf and take it back home and make sure it heals. Then something amazing happens, the wolf wakes up and his attitude causes Josef to actually smile and laugh. This is something that Josef has not done in a long time and he finds himself enjoying the company of the wolf, Gabe. This short story details how they lived their life together before they meet their Witch and gives you an insight into how a Wolf and a Vampire can be such strong friends.
had such an ODD vibe about it there really wasn't a story told here , Josef found Gabe took him it
cared for him helped guide him and protect him, provide food clothing and shelter for him, and then
constantly be amazed at how attached he got to him as their friendship grew.. but NO real story as
it that was bad enough the really odd part for the whole THIS IS NOT AN m/m STORY OK!!! WEIRDNESS
to it, from the cover that screams m/m story to it(if you hadn't ready read The Witch, The Wolf and The Vampire,
to Gabe almost constantly even supposedly after 50 years together with Josef.. feeling the need to say I.LIKE.GIRLS!
to Josef... I'm personally not into m/m stories,it's just not my thing.. kinda like window shopping, don't wanna read about what I
can never have..(I'm a Woman who loves men :) (I wanna read about a Woman getting her man and pretending it's me sometimes)
can't do that with m./m and it was a really odd thing to KEEP coming up over and over and over especially with Josef noticing Gabe's
rippling muscles at times and realizing he love Gabe..now I'm sure it's like a lil brother and a close friend ,coz they are only ever with
Women sexually but like i said there was little to No story here and between odd cover "Art" and Gabe seeming to NEED to bring it
up sooooooooo OFTEN even after 50 years together it started to have a "I think he Doth protest too much" vibe
and it was just weird and kept me on edge wondering if there was gonna be a surprise to their relationship I wasn't gonna be happy to learn...
even thou if you've read all this series you know the end up happily "married"/bonded with Peri the witch in the title and having at least 3 kids
with her and some Grandkids but the feel was just soo odd not "real" story here and an odd vibe that left me wondering...
for me a waste of time that added nothing to the characters or the story.. They met the traveled, the shared women and Josef found a friend
he loves that makes him laugh and O Gabe he LOVES WOMEN!!!
The banter between Josef and Gabe flowed seamlessly. I laughed, had my emotional outburst but I fell in love with these two amazing characters all over again. Thank you A.K. Michaels for letting me experience the beginning of my favorite series with my favorite vampire and Wolf.
Until Next Time.... Tabi
Josef is an ancient and powerful vampire. Gabe is a young werewolf. The pair make an unlikely duo. I laughed quite a bit while reading this book. Gabe being young and cheeky, is good for a good chuckle as he makes appropriate comments and embarasses himself.
I recommend this book for paranormal lovers and those who love The Witch, The Wolf and The Vampire trilogy. This book can be read first for the back story of Joself and Gabe or at the end to read it like a flashback.
