This book is a jumble. At many places, I couldn’t understand who was saying what to whom. There was virtually no transitioning. The book reads like sentences were thrown into a blender and the resulting mess became the book.
Another important problem with the book is the lack of dignity that is afforded Agatha. She’s a funny, smart, attractive woman, but she is written like a desperate loser. Give her a permanent romance or just leave the romance out.
If you want to enjoy MC Beaton books, read the ones published before 2012.
