just because the game is a kind of point and click play style with some QTE ( quick time events )this does not diminish the game at all. This game , just like the walking Dead series is all about telling you a story that you participate in , kind of like an interactive movie really.
The story is REALLY engaging and will draw you in , and make you care for the characters through out your journey. The storys are told through episodes just like the Walking Dead series , the good thing is that they are all on this one disk for you to play one after another without the wait for the next episode to release like I had to do when it first came to the 360.
The animaton is top notch and has a more polished look to it on the Xbox One than it did on the Xbox 360. It's still got the comic book like graphics but they have seen more polished upgrade from last gen till now. It might be just the upgrade in hardware from the 360 to the Xbox One , but there is a noticable difference.
Bottom line - If you love a really good story and movie like game, this might be for you. If you like the fast paced action of call of Duty and games of the like then you might want to give this game a pass. I like all types of games , FPS , TPS , RPG , RTS ,I simply love games and find each and every type to be a most enjoyable experience . So because of the excellent story , great animation/art and engaging characters I am giving this game a
Solid 5 out of 5
Every character you speak with and every place you visit seem dirty somehow, which is fitting for a story about fables struggling to stay hidden in plain sight. Big B. Wolf (the playable character) doesn't change and grow up like Clementine did in TWD, but the choices you make impact the fables around you in pretty serious ways that pay off in the end.
Last note: unlike TWD games on consoles, you don't automatically get 100% completion for finishing Wolf Among Us. So I do recommend taking your time and examining every you come across - doing so will fit out your 'Book of Fables' which is basically an in-game encyclopedia. You need a completed Book of Fables to get 100%, but it's very easy to do.
If you told Clive Barker to write his vision of classic fair tails this would be it
The backstory is simple
It's all the Classic Story Characters in "our" world trying to live normal lives and some not so normal (they hide behind magic called Glamours that change there appearance if they are a talking Frog they most get the spell or they get a warning from the sheriff
Bigby Wolf aka the big bad wolf who watches over all the citizens of Fabletown
you play as Bigby at you come across a laundry list of classic story book characters
The Wolf Among Us works so well because all the once flawless storybook characters are broken and damaged in the real world
and something about that makes sense if you think about it
Ichabod Crane is a serial stalker with OCD and weird bondage stuff going on in his head and he sometimes acts on it
The once loved by all Snow White is unsure of herself after her prince left her.....
If you are a fan of ABC's Once Upon A Time you might wanna check this out to see a much darker take on the Legacy of some of the classic fairy tales of all times
Typical Telltale Games not flawless not as clunky as TWD Controls
Graphics 9/10 This is a port plain and simple I played the first Chapter one 360
it's the complete same (Telltale Games has this weird programming bug/ glitch in all this style of games where some scenes look super stiff and the frame rates slow down!Read more ›
