Even though WOLF HUNT is the sixth book in the SWAT series, it stands perfectly alone, as the setting is different and few references are made to the Dallas SWAT team. I couldn’t wait for Remy’s story, and yet it’s Triana who totally seduced me; she is a marvellous character, and her grandmother nearly steals the show, as does Max Lowry – a SWAT colleague of Remy’s in Dallas. The romance is lovely, but I was disappointed in Remy, as I barely detected the charming rogue he appeared to be in the previous books, and he upset Triana, and I disconnected a bit from the romance, although things turned out well later on, and it was done in a realistic manner. Strange to say, although the SWAT story is captivating, it is Triana’s I found more interesting.
The action sequences are positively cinematic, the writing flawless, the dialogues excellent, but then again, this is normal from Paige Tyler. WOLF HUNT is more of a straightforward romantic suspense until the very end, and also rather light on the paranormal, until Paige Tyler stuns us. Again!
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.
During a training stint in New Orleans, he reunites with his high school friend and she is all grown up in all the best ways. They both live in different parts of Texas but find each other in the home state. They immediately renew the friendship and step it up quickly. However, Remy backs off when he realizes how deep his feelings are. Not up to another loss.
While he and the team are called on to help with an ongoing criminal problem, Triana digs into the unsolved murder of her father.
Ms. Tyler presents us with another book filled with action, danger, loyalty, and plenty of steam. Abby Craden does a great job with the narration. As with all of the swat books I loved this one and listened in one day. A 5 star recommend from me.
They reconnect and get very close, but Remy struggles to keep it casual. He keeps women at a distance after his partner-and first love was killed on the job.
A mysterious wolf pendant ropes them both into danger, and kicks Remy's protective instincts in. If he has to reveal his true self, he hopes Triana accepts who and what he is. Great story.
The rest of the book gives a very good glimpse into Paige Tyler's X-Ops series coming in Sept. Can't wait for that one either!☺
This author has joined my very small list of auto buy authors. Every time I read one of her books, I’m transported to a wonderful new place with great characters. There are usually a few mistakes in each book, but nothing that distracts from the story.
There is also a significant chunk of an X-Ops story at the end. It includes the first 11 chapters. Remember that you haven’t finished it if you start reading it, because it will seem familiar, because of this.
