One star off for poor audio levels for main character dialogue. I know it's supposed to sound under the breath, but it's completely inaudible, even with headphones. Save function crashed on me once, as well, but didn't cause much of an issue.
One thing that bothered me with this game (and I'm pretty sure it's just my TV, not the game's fault) is that I could barely hear the dialogue. I had to turn my volume up into the 50s to hear them clearly. On the downside, all other sounds became unbearably loud so I had to compromise around 35ish. On my TV I usually am able to play all my games at around 18-20 with just the right amount of sound. This made subtitles crucial to me enjoying the campaign.
Last thing I'll touch on is the story. Not so far into the beginning of the game, you make a very important decision in the game that will basically affect a certain aspect of the story from that point on until the end of the game. This adds replay value because after you beat the game the first time, you will want to go back and play through it again, but choosing the option that you did not choose your first time around. I have beaten the game, but I have not gone back and played it again, so I'm not sure if the outcome of the story remains the same or not based on this decision you make. I don't want to accidentally give away any spoilers so I'll leave it at that.
I enjoyed the story and thought it was awesome. I'm so happy it didn't have a happy ever after ending. With that said, I'm also happy it didn't have the opposite: A sad "everyone dies, no hope for the future, Nazis reign supreme forever" type ending. After all, you're just one man fighting against the entire Nazi regime that has taken over the world, so why would you expect the story to be upbeat all the time or have a happy ending?
Overall this game was fun to play. I wouldn't necessarily call this a must-buy, but if you're a fan of FPS games and want to kill Nazis and destroy Nazi robots, have a go with this game. Machinegames (the developers) did a nice job of painting a bleak, post apocalyptic, alternate future world where the Nazis reign supreme. They do it subtly, from showing information about the world through newspaper articles, to the outrageous stone buildings the Nazis have erected. Personally, I feel this game is worth around $35-40 and especially with me not being a big fan of FPS games, I could have waited and bought this after a price drop. However, do not let what I said deter you from buying this game. It is a great game. I'm not knocking it at all.
