I love open world games like Skyrim , Dragon Age and any other large RPG that can consume literally hundreds of hours of your life , but sometimes like right now I just want a simple go this way , pull this lever and shoot that kind of game and Wolfenstine : the new order fits the bill very nicely.

Graphics : honestly they are not the best I've ever seen but they are very pleasing to the eyes. It's not what I would call the next gen graphics that you really want to see on your shiny new Xbox One , but they are better than the 360 and ps3 , so at least we are getting better graphics than what we would have gotten on our last Gen machines :) but all we need is a little patience and time and the next gen graphics we want will be here soon enough.

Story : the story is interesting enough that it keeps me in my seat and wanting to play more and more . I literally had to make myself put the controller down and get some much needed stuff done around the house , all the while thinking about my new wolfenstine game and wanting nothing more than to just sit back down and play a bit more , but alas we must be responsible and do what is needed . So my Wolfenstine thirst will not be quenched until later tonight when the wife and kids are tucked in the bed asleep , haha then it's game on baby !!!!

game play : its what you would expect from most FPS games , the controls are smooth and precise , the button layout is the same as Call Of Duty except you cannot go prone. The major difference in this game and most of the others is we get to play in an alternate reality ( during WW2 ) where the Nazis have won and we are the repressed that are fighting for our freedom.

I have played this game since it's first inception (I'm 44) What a great job Bethesda did with this game. The graphics are really good (not great) but the game play and voice acting are top notch! Remember this game has a "M" rating (and for good reason). I'm about 7 hours into it and the game just gets better and better. The weapons are great, the sound and controls are excellent. I highly recommend this game if you are a fan of Wolfenstein. Now there is no multiplayer in this game please remember that before purchasing. I am fine with this seeing I kinda suck at multiplayer unless it is a co op or capture the flag type stuff LOL. This game is just plane fun with a great story line and great voice acting with plenty of blood and gore!!. Killing, Stabbing, Strangling Nazzi's what could be better!!!

Take care everyone!

Wolfenstein: The New Order is the first game developed by MachineGames, a new game development studio comprised of industry veterans who worked on such titles as The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay and The Darkness. After leaving Starbreeze, these talents started MachineGames to continue their passion of making great games, and if Wolfenstein: The New Order is any indication, this studio has a bright future ahead of them.

First and foremost, Wolfenstein: The New Order is a single player game. Is that a negative? Not one bit. There are enough multiplayer games out there if that's what you're into, and only a few of them actually succeed, so it's best to leave multiplayer to the games that have people who want that and not waste resources on it when they could be better spent making a meatier and more satisfying single player game, and that's exactly what MachineGames did with Wolfenstein: The New Order. Depending on your style of play, you can get 20 hours out of this game on one playthrough, which is very long for a first-person shooter. In addition, both running & gunning and stealth are viable options since the level design allows for exploration and planning which is important if you're playing stealthily. This also adds replay since there are two different ways you can play the game. As for the shooting, it's so buttery smooth and packs a punch. I haven't played a shooter in a very long time that felt this good. As for stealth, it's pretty basic but satisfying. It's fun throwing knives at the enemy or using a silenced pistol. :)

Onto the graphics, this game is available on Xbox One, PS4, PC, Xbox 360 and PS3, so it's a cross-generational release, which means it won't be the most graphically impressive game you've ever seen.

Finally there is a proper revitalization of the Wolfenstein series! I have played these games since I was a little boy growing up in the 90's. I can still remember traversing the maze-like corridors that Wolfenstein 3D offered on the SNES. As the years progressed and my demeanor changed from; adolescence, pre-pubescense, angsty teenager, and now a young adult- the Wolfenstein series has been there through each of these points in my life. However, as my wisdom grew stronger through the years, my faith in the Wolfenstein series faded like days of my fleeting youth. However, Wolfenstein: The New Order has revitalized that faith as if the Fountain of Youth is surging through my veins once more.

While I'm not saying this game is "perfect", it is definitely a stride in the right direction. First of all the setting of the game is absolutely stunning. While it may not feature the "next gen" graphics experience we are all looking for it does showcase familiar architectural structures and locations laced with a "Nazi Flair". It only makes it that much more believable that you are traversing through a post apocalyptic, Third Reich inspired future. The voice-acting in this game is also fantastic. From senior citizens of Polish decent to B.J's 1940's American Marine dialogue, each character you encounter draws you in like a moth to a flame and creates an emotional attachment within the minute of meeting each entity. The gun play is fantastic and is a great throwback to the days of old while mixing in an element of the new.

However, while the game offers strengths it also has its weaknesses.
