Wolfgang Puck created this 7 piece cookware set and named it Versa Pan because of the versatility it offers you in what you can do at meal time. This set comes with a 4qt stainless steel Versa pan with a dome lid. This also has an extender ring that instantly adds height to the Versa pan allowing you to cook large roasts, ham, etc.. This set also includes a steamer and roasting rack that will fit inside the extender ring which will allow you to roast meat in the versa pan and potatoes on the steamer/roasting rack. The divider insert is designed to be used in conjunction with the steamer/roasting rack and allows you to cook food in 3 separate sections. You also receive a cooking plate & cake ring which can be used to bake cheese cake, casseroles, assorted desserts, etc.. The versa Pan is oven safe to 400°F. The handles and knob on your Versa Pan sets are designed to minimize heat transfer under normal stove top cooking conditions. It is always recommended to use a pot holder or oven mitt at all times. This set will come with a bonus full sized hard cover recipe books with the titles of either The Gourmet Versacooker Cookbook or The Fryer Cookbook or the Immersion Blender Cookbook that was written by Marian Getz with some of her easy to follow recipes.

I purchased it from Manhattan Products, and I was very happy with the service, not only did it arrive before the promised date, but they also included a cook book with the pan. Nice touch
Some people seem to think that 18/10 means heavyweight, when in fact it has nothing to due with weight at all. It means how much chromium and nickel is in the pan. 18 is always first and refers to the chromium content and the second number 8 or 10 or 0 refers to the nickel content. 18/10 and 18/8 are very good at resisting corrosion or rust, while the 18/0 pan will have big problems. Both 18/8 and 18/10 are grade 304 stainless which is best for good cookware and cutlery. As far thickness, the bottom has a flat thick multi-clad disc of 5mm aluminium sandwiched between enclosing layers of stainless steel. The pan heats evenly and very well and you will need less gas or electric to heat it--so watch your heat setting. I don't recommend HIGH temp cooking for searing with any stainless steel--medium to medium-high heat is the highest you should ever go. For high temp searing use cast iron.
Cover fits snug. I did get this online for a fraction of the one here so look around. It has hundreds of good reviews. Great Bling factor. Looks absolutely awesome. Excellent gift or a gift for yourself. I haven't seen a pan set with the versatility this one has for the price. If you could have ONLY 1 piece of cookware--this would be it--so much you can do with it.
You also get a stainless steel platter and cake ring and a hard cover book with recipes--can't go wrong.
