First book in a new series

I was very excited to see a new series by this author. I was a little disappointed by this story. It felt rushed and forced. I know it is hard to write about wolf shifters in a new way, there are so many books out there. This one didn't seem to quite pull it off, though some of the plot was unique.

Monica has moved to a new town to escape her train wreck of a life in New York City. She has found a new job in the Catskill so that she is close to friends and family, but not too close. As a doctor she can work pretty much anywhere she wants and this seems to be a good fit.

Raul is a member of a small wolf pack in a nearby town. He and his siblings have grown up in the area and have a small business. His pack forbids relationships with humans, though no one is really sure why this policy was instituted. It has never really bothered Raul, until he meets Monica. Well, maybe meets is not the right word. He almost bleeds to death on her front porch. Naked.

Wolves, a witch, an unsavory pack Alpha, a prophecy. This book has it all. Unfortunately it did not come together as well as it could have. I will read the next book and see if a second story will help to fill out the rough edges.

     I love wolves so when I saw this cover I decided to try. Ms. Sarah seems to have a way with writing, not once did I want to put this book down, I had to finish this all the way. This book had Hero's and Strong Heroine's, with Adventure, Survival, Fear, Jealousy, Suspense, Action Packed, Loyalty, Hate, Love. This is definitely a MUST READ...
    Monica Mills aka: Mon is a happily married human, twenty-nine year old doctor in New York Metropolitan Hospital. It seems that her marriage had failed so they got a divorce. Monica had to leave New York so four months later she left and went to a small town called Shandaken up in the Catskill Mountains, her best friends Julia Stinson, Kate Brooks helped her move which help so much. Now relaxing she hers her favorite animal howl, it was music to her ears. Monica has loved wolf forever and a day, did Wolf Mountain Peak carry secrets that will change her life forever.
     Raul Bradford is a Wolf Shifter who is the oldest of the three brother's Dean, Ray and there baby sister Melissa. He was always the brother who did everything right, the wise one. The Alpha and Lieutenant kept hounding him wanting him to fight and of course he would fight them they didn't play fair they went ahead and wait until he it was tiring out in the that second the alpha came in and started fighting him too the two of them together he couldn't beat. Escaping with his life was a miracle going for help a human's house was a mistake or was it? Raul was lucky that a doctor found him stitching him up, when you woke he saw her and knew right away who's she was to him. There was only one problem being with her was a death sentence for them both.
     A copy of this book was provided to me with no requirements for a review. I voluntarily read this book and my comments here are my honest opinion.

Cool wolf shifter story. 4 Stars

The heritage of the wolves are from Spanish descent which is something I've never read about.
The prophecy of Raul and Monica is pretty cool, double 12 & 13's plus being mentioned by name from 300 years ago is only part of it. True Love is the heart of the book.

Mature readers 18+, strong language and sexual content.

A real page turner for me

Monica Mills, a doctor, relocates to Shandaken in the Catskill Mountains shortly after her 8 month marriage ends in divorce.

Shortly after the moving vans pull away, a fierce storm blows in, bringing with it a different sort of danger. A huge badly injured man and he's naked! Monica and her friends drag him inside and she works to save his life.

He leaves when he wakes up without giving her his name. Monica is curious about the man she treated and goes looking for him. Of all things, the same man, Raul, saves her when she falls from a tree!

Raul is a wolf shifter and the penalty for becoming involved with a human is death according to pack law! His vicious Alpha would do it too. With their hearts pulling them closer, this couple could be in a life or death situation. Will they make it or they break each other's hearts?

Thoroughly enjoyed this read from beginning to end. Loved the characters and the intrigue. A real page turner for me.
