The original 1000 Mile Boot from Wolverine. This pair is handmade in the USA to reflect the quality and craftsmanship found in the original Wolverines. The Cordovan No. 8 upper, from Chicago's Horween Company, breaks in over time and ages well. The Goodyear welt construction attaches the leather sole and Vibram heel. Waxed cotton laces, 4 eyelets, and 3 lace hooks.

After noticing the differences in packaging, I looked at the boot construction and notice remarkable differences in stitching. The sole on this pair of boots is cheaply sewn into the boot exterior and the stitching will wear away quickly. With the other boots I received, the stitching on the sole was inlaid so that extended wear would not degrade the stitching. The other noticeable difference was the interior texture behind the leather. From this seller, it was much more frayed and difficult to read the boot description on the interior of the tongue. The other pair of boots had a slightly lighter interior and much easier to read the boot description. And finally, the color and quality of the exterior leather is noticeably different.
I've had these boots a few weeks and the best mod I've done is having my cobbler fit Vibram "Raptor" half-soles to heel (5341) and sole (2341) of the boot. While these half-soles can be glued with the right prep, glue and technique, and a lot of people have done this, (search around you will find how to do it yourself) my cobbler glued and stitched the vibram half-soles down. The results are the raptor half-sole enhances the boot's grip in wet conditions substantially without compromising the refined lines. Basically, they add grip and provide some added water protection. Try walking across wet soaked painted pavement without the raptors and you feel the bare leather sole sliding under your feet. Yes, there are more aggressive vibram soles, such as the popular hiking lug. But I feel these make the boot a bit heavy for its intended purpose. But if that's the style you want, work with your cobbler as they can most likely get and add anything.
An example raptor is on the half-sole of this shoe. --> http://cdn.styleforum.net/e/ee/eec6cbc0_5458041623_e995ca61a9_z.jpeg
I have to give kudos to the seller, F.S. Fashion I ordered the boots in an 11.5, which is a have size down from what I normally wear in sneakers. The shoes showed up and ended up being too big on me, and had some signs of wear. I called the seller to ask to exchange them for 11s, and asked if the boots were factory seconds or something, because of the wear on the shoes. The woman on the phone assured me that their shoes are not seconds, and are not used. She apologized, said that sometimes people wear the boots out once or twice, then return them. I shipped them back to the seller who sent me a new pair of size 11's that looked and fit great- and in perfect condition!
Overall the boots are great, definitely invest in all appropriate methods needed to upkeep the condition of the shoes (conditioner, etc.), and be sure to size down (most likely) a full size what you wear in sneakers (I'm wearing Nike Janoskis, if that helps).
