The art, as always, is fantastic. As much as I like Lemires writing on all of the books I don't know how it would hold up under a different artist, the two work so well together.
If you've enjoyed the extended OML stories under Lemire then you'll also enjoy this one.
One other complaint is going to sound real familiar to amazon buyers but there is practically no care put into the packing and shipping process. Like most others, it arrived with some dings in it. I'm not factoring this into the review because that's not Marvels fault or the creators fault, it's on Amazon to pay more attention to this. I don't mind too much if my TPBs have some flaws because they have no real resale value but it's getting to be a repeat issue now.
In volume 1, Logan adjusted to the new world and rejoined the XMen.
In volume 2, Logan travels far north to find the child who would grow up to be his wife in his original timeline (I know, confusing but makes sense). He is hunted down by the Reavers, and a tremendous battle ensues. At the end of the battle awaits Lady Deathstrike. She escapes.
In this volume, Logan hunts Deathstrike down to Japan. The plot and dialogue are good. As in previous volumes, we follow the present timeline and the old one in a dual narrative. It is interesting, but it can only last so long. Two major problems with this volume:
1) The artist should be ashamed. Tokyo was drawn with Mt. Fuji looming directly behind the city. This is not so. I liked in Tokyo. This was very sloppy. Do some research.
2) Logan teams up with someone he should never team up with. Very disappointing.
Seriously, don't hesitate at all, buy this. Read it. Then read it again cause it's that good!
