This is not your average review. I love this boot. when I get my feet into them they fit great and are comfortable all day! So why a 3 star and why do I list that they are somewhat narrow? The throat of this boot is so narrow I have to work at getting them on. Once in they are great. But then you have to take them off and it is a fight to get them back off.

If you're looking for a replacement for the Durashock discontinued swede boot, keep looking. I thought that these boots would be exactly the same as the swede boots of the same name, but they are not. The fit is completely different, and so is the comfort of the top of the boot as well. As boots go, they should be able to be worn all day, isn't that the idea? But after an hour you really wanna kick these off. Wolverine makes a great boot, so I am really surprised.

I bought these for my husband a couple of years ago. He works outside on a deer farm and he is on his feet, in the mud, wet grass etc. These boots are Gortex and keep his feet warm and dry. He finally wore them out and he asked for another pair for this Christmas. Highly recommend these boots as my husband is hard to please!!

Shoe sizes are all over the place nowadays. I have shoes marked from size 10 to size 12, and all fit the same. I buy most of them in the self service stores, where I try on shoes until I get a fit, not by any particular size. I bought these in size 11, which is what I feel my size actually is, so I would say that these are sized honestly. You want a new boot to be 'snug', but the pointed toes on these boots will tell you right away if you have a size too small - your toes will get crunched. These boots are soft and pliable, and require very little break-in.

I bought these to replace my last pair of wolverine wellington durashocks, when I bought my first pair a friend who had several pairs suggested I buy them a half size small (unless steel toe) so that once broken in they wouldn't be loose. I followed those instructions and after a week ended up with a very comfortable pair of boots, (they are uncomfortable for the first several days if you go this route) My last pair lasted 2.5 years when the seam near the toe/rubber started to seperate and I finally wore holes through the bottom and exposed the insoles at 3 years. I work in construction and am constantly kneeling and flexing my boots so I am happy with the service life of these boots.

The only drawback: The manufacture size and my foot size didn't seem to agree. I had to return these. That's probably the biggest drawback to ordering shoes without trying them on. The reason I went with these is the lining will wick away moisture. Plus it's a soft shock absorbing sole too and will NOT allow a lot of embedding of metal chips into it, unlike a LOT of shoes I have worn. I have another pair of Wolverine's that I LOVE Love luv. And consider them my Sunday go to meeting shoes. If you buy them go for 1/2 size larger then normal. 10.5= get an 11

These fit as expected for me because this is the second pair I have had. These are good for me because I'm 6' tall, 185 pounds with 9.5 to 10 regular width (M in Wolverine Lingo, D for every other brand) and I don't have big meaty feet. These may not be your boots if you have fat calves because the shanks of these boots aren't particularly wide. My calves are normal size and fit just fine inside them.

Four months into almost daily wear and very happy with purchase. So far this winter the morning temps for the past 4 weeks have been at the 0/15+ degree mark. Using only a merino wool sock I have worn these boots in cow poop, snow, ice, mud, and ankle deep water. With the goretex lining I have not found the need to break out my Sorrels which I find to clumsy for eveyday work. I'm not trying to represent any insulating properties in this boot just that the goretex lining has worked very well for me and boot has been waterproof. Bear in mind I have cleaned and treated the outside of the boot with silicone waterproofing at least three times this winter already. The leather has held up well and the boot was comfortable from day one. Two thumbs up also for the slip resistant soles.
