In volume 1, Logan adjusted to the new world and rejoined the XMen.
In volume 2, Logan travels far north to find the child who would grow up to be his wife in his original timeline (I know, confusing but makes sense). He is hunted down by the Reavers, and a tremendous battle ensues. At the end of the battle awaits Lady Deathstrike. She escapes.
In volume 3, Logan hunts Deathstrike down to Japan. Once again, the story is told both in his Wasteland past and in the present (both stories take place in Tokyo (with an egregiously misplaced Mt Fuji).
There are two stories in this volume. The first two issues find Logan traveling to Romania in order to deal with some vampires. Aside from a horribly named team of paranormal super powered agents (not heroes) that he teams up with, the story is really good. It's fun. For so long, Marvel (and DC) stories were just the same old thing but repackaged. Ultimately, there is a return to the status quo, no matter how much the character suffered (and almost no one ever dies -- I think Uncle Ben is the only one that has really stayed dead at this point). This series flips that upside down - Wolverine is old, Jubilee is a vampire and a mom, there is a mutant sentinel; all of this is new and different. Well done.
Nonetheless, it is worth the read. Don't miss the earlier volumes, though.
