Woman in Black VHS
THIS IS THE ORIGINAL BRITISH HORROR FILM! In this spine-chilling Victorian ghost story, a lawyer is sent to settle up the estate of a dead client, and to sell her remote mansion out on the marsh. During the course of his work, he is haunted by the sight of a sinister, mysterious woman dressed in black, who according to local legend has put a curse on the village. He soon feels the wrath of the specter, and is driven to the brink of insanity.

I've watched it at least two-three times a year since I first got it and it still holds it's original charm and terror - the acting and the setting are both brilliantly done, and it seems like 90% of the people who reviewed this agree.
If you find this boring, you should probably be out snowboarding with a sixpack of Coors Light.
This is not a blood-and-guts type of thriller but a ghost story in the best tradition. If you like this try "The Legend of Hell House" and/or "The Others".
It is a story that builds suspense and fear, and if you are not able to take the time to allow it to work its magic, switch to a splatter movie. If you give it a chance it will scare the hell out of you.
The characters are likeable and you actually care what happens to them.
I suggest watching it at night with a friend or two.
Think about when you were a kid and even though your parents assured you that there were no such things as ghosts, you wern't so sure.
This movie makes me admire what can be done with a good story and not much else as far as special effects go.

Can anyone explain why a 1.5 hour movie cost $229.00?
