I'm a Feminist, and when I heard about this book I couldn't wait to get my hands on it. Elizabeth Cady Stanton examines parts of the bible, and calls out the BS we find in it towards women. She was brave enough and intellectual enough - to question one of the most influential books in the world. The bible. Unfortunately, when she published it in her time, she got major backlash over it. I even heard she was removed from the women's leading committee because of this. Anyways if your a feminist or even if you don't identify yourself as one, read it. You will find yourself questioning the bible in full.
What I didn't like about it however, is that I purchased it as PAPERBACK. Oh my god how I hate paperback. But the hardcover was to expensive for me right now. I might repurchase it later in the future.
This book had the "balls" to ask those questions I've always been afraid to even think about. It's funny to see the date when this book was published and to know that after all those years, women still have to battle to be heard. But then, women have come a long way too. I'm glad this book was written. I'm even more glad that I read it. Every woman worth her salt should read it. Because with the questions comes the answers and with the answers comes true freedom. "The truth shall make you free".
