From the Author
I researched concordances and references from the Scofield Bible and some Jewish rabbinical accounts to get a feel for what life was like for women in the days of the Bible. I also consulted other Women of the Bible books and eventually I decided that my blogs could be expanded into a book. However, as I began to write, I realized that these female charactes were not just "women of the Bible", they were women of today, the twenty-first century.
Life may have been more difficult for them in some ways and they were treated like second-class citizens (especially in the Old Testament), but overall they laughed and cried over the same things that make us laugh and cry, and they needed God's intervention in their lives just as we do today. It was then that I changed the title of the book to Women For All Seasons. I felt that the characters would fit into today's society as easily as they did in theirs, and they showed the tenacity and resilience that caused them to endure no matter what the season was. Look at Ruth, Naomi, Mary Magdalene, Esther, to name a few, and you will see how they trusted God regardless of the season they were in.
I found myself crying while I wrote some of the stories and as the Holy Spirit moved within me. I trust that readers of this book will be similarly moved, if not to tears, but at least to a greater understanding of God and how precious we are to Him as His daughters.
