One notable con, however:
The material is not only non-reflective- the dark color actually makes you harder to see. I always ride with reflective gear and lights in the rain, but for the most part this cape covers them all up. I combat this by pulling the cape just behind my headlight (my taillight remains unobstructed), but obviously this compromises the effectiveness of the front covering because it does not come all the way over the handlebars. Regardless, I still remain dry.
For light use during the day this rain cape is a good product. For night riding or any situation where visibility is greatly reduced, it requires some modifications to remain visible and safe (I'm thinking about adding some reflective tape). If only it were offered in a brighter color...
I tried it out riding during the rain and found this a great inexpensive way to remain mostly dry (except for the face (I'll have to put my baseball cap under my bike helmet to assist).Yes,it's kind of odd looking when riding however it's very
effective and also one remains cool without sweating unlike ordinary rain gear/clothing.It would be nice if it came in other and more brighter colors though like yellow etc.Kind of a purple dark red coloring to it.After riding in the rain you will want to take it off to dry indoors for a few hours. In addition the pricing was excellent and I purchased two of them right oft hand.I've seen English made English Bike Capes sell at prices far far above this. It's likely that I'll be purchasing some more in the future for friends of mine that also are into cycling.
As for durability some of the stiching is loose in some minor areas but at this price if they might fall apart in a few months or a years time they easily pay for themselves. To note I have only riden once with this cape on during the rain for testing so I don't know for sure how they will hold up but again they are very much worthwhile for the price. This is the best inexpensive bicycling rain gear option out there. If you ride in the rain on a bike get this!
Just put your bike helmet on after you have this on.
Edit--I have tested this again on another ride April 26th,2012 in rain with some wind on a 5 mile ride.
Most of the time there is no issue however sometimes the wind may blow the cape up over the handlebars (haven't had an issue of it blowing into my face though and blocking sight though this could be a possibility if riding fast with some strong winds). It didn't happen very often though. It was breezy though but not a strong wind/rain storm. An easy fix just adhere a velcro strip on the front inside of the cape to velcro wrapped around handlebars. That's one easy solution. Here is what I did.I just glued some velcro strip to the front inside part of the cape to attach to velcro I glued to the front bottom part of my bike amplified speaker which is in the very front middle in front of the handlebar.I might put another velcro strip to the inside back of the cape and attach a velcro strip to my rear trunk bag (one could also attach it to the back of a seat post. This would prevent fluttering in the wind from the backside though I don't see this as much of a problem. This is the only very minor issue with this cape and the purchaser can easily do this themselves. However it would be nice if velcro strips were included with this cape though I had some extra velrco strips myself.I'll still keep this rated as a 5 star item even with the minor issues.
This cape is no Veltop type (rain canopy, transparent windscreen fairing) bike ride in the rain solution however its effective and very inexpensive. In a way it might be a nice compliment (addition) to also using a Veltop bike accessory to keep one even much drier.
I also purchased 2 more of these to give to cycling friends.
Just to let you know I am a 6 foot tall male rider in my mid 50's age whom weighs heavy at 240 pounds (trying to lose weight too).So this rain cape fits me just fine.

Rode with it again today, and I can say pretty confidently: The length in front is fine. But the width and length in back are both subpar. Particularly bad if you ride with a backpack, as most commuters do. Without a backpack, the rear might be barely okay, but with even a modest sized bag underneath, it will ride up too much.
Also, it lacks any thumb loops, waist cinch or other way to secure it to self or bike to avoid flapping.
The good news is that the cape is much lighter and more functional than the name. It is made of lightweight but sufficiently strong nylon with a PVC coating on the inside for waterproofing. the seams are sealed by flexible PVC strips heat welded on the inside.
The Good: -Keeps you dry in rain. -Very light and folds or rolls very small for raingear, it stays in the bottom of my backpack until needed. -Offers much less wind resistance than you would think, (I thought I would be turned into a rolling sail). -I stay cool and dry since air can get up underneath the cape.- It has survived having all kinds of gear thrown on top of it in my pack, machine washing (air dried) and generally not being treated carefully, with little apparent wear.
The Not So Good: -The color is too dark to give good visibility. -The back portion is much shorter than it appears on the product photo (probably due to the fact that the average Chinese female poncho model is significantly shorter than the average western male). -I was hoping for enough length to cover a backpack, but the cape leaves the bottom half of the pack uncovered.
Bottom Line: For the price, any negatives are easily forgiven. The cape does a good job for not a lot of money.
EDIT 9/9/14: (after more than 2 years of hard use) After repeated machine washing and being rolled up tightly and stuffed in the water bottle pocket of my backpack, the PE waterproof layer has started to fail in many places where I stretched the fabric. The poncho-like rain cape still keeps me much drier than without it, although I do get wet in areas that directly touch the fabric.
NOTE: I modified the cape by enlarging the neck hole. I cut a straight, clean line from the center between the snaps to almost the point of the V at the bottom of the neck gusset. I can now put the cape on quickly without removing my helmet, a BIG plus for me. Fabric has not frayed or ripped along the cut.
The cape has gone way past my expectations for the price. Still 5 stars.
