I have read the Men on My Couch for a project I worked on a couple of years ago and loved it! Mrs. Dunn actually helped me with my project by providing me information regarding the theories that she utilizes. I had wanted to read this book ever since and had not forgotten about it despite how busy I am. I finally have gotten around to reading this one due to being swamped with grad school work and was not disappointed! I really enjoyed the insight into women's sexuality as described by Dunn and, as a woman, can apply some of her work to my own life!

I read this book, because I read the first book, "The Men on my Couch". Dr. Engler takes you through her experience with patients, their detailed sexual situations, and ties it to historical references. She somehow strikes a balance between clinical detail, and everyday peoples' inherently interesting lives.

I've read both of Dr. Engler's books, the one about men and this one. As a man, I found both of these utterly compelling. The book about men helped me see things about myself that I hadn't allowed myself to see. This one, about women, allows me to see things about women that I was unable to see on my own. I so appreciate her writing and her insights.

I really appreciated that the author wrote a follow up to Men on My Couch that dived into the perception of sexuality from the viewpoint of her female clients.

This read was very enlightening. I believe we can all come away with multiple lessons regarding human sexuality, regardless of gender, and how it is so easily and heavily influenced by trauma, society, culture, and history.
