The great thing about the book is that it keeps you positive through these trying times - reminds you that although things may seem crazy during a development leap, that really, your baby is developing some new skills which create the foundation and/or building blocks of what makes us who we are. It's fascinating to see how our little ones develop the understanding of the big world around them!
My son is currently going through the second to last chapter (Principles), and now, I'm wondering...what happens after he hits the last chapter in the book? Now, I want a sequel! :-)
The book is sightly hard to navigate, and often times the parent 'testimonials' seem out of place.
My daughter is like a textbook and all those wonder days are very intense. at 6 weeks old we were sleeping through the night and had nice long naps during the day. But then the growth spurt changed everything. Now i know we also had a mental leap, then again and again now at 17 weeks which lasts about a month. Without the info in this book i was freaking out and worrying about what happened to my child and why all of a sudden we have these changes. Good to know its all a normal sign that my baby is developing and it is easier for me to take care of her knowing what is going on :)))
