Wonderfully Made: The Testimony of a Forgiven Woman Kindle Edition

4.5 4.5 out of 5 stars 7 ratings

She never imagined that she would share her story—a story that would expose such a private secret! But after receiving a persistent prompting from the Holy Spirit, she had no choice but to be obedient. That revelation empowered her to reveal her incredible healing journey that took place years ago—a journey of confusion, pain, revelation, and victory!

In Wonderfully Made, author Neva Ann Cairco reveals her life’s journey and exposes the core cause for abortion. Her story is written to help heal the broken and wounded—with God’s direction. For Neva, discovering the underlying rationale for that decision was the beginning step to obtain her release from abortion’s guilt and shame. God used her struggles to reveal his love and mercy. Neva brings to light the potency of the forgiveness found in Jesus Christ. That very same power is available to help others struggling with this heart breaking experience. But how do we get there? Neva takes a loving yet no-nonsense look at abortion. She shows us how we can receive God’s forgiveness. She walks us through her life’s path of innocence, deception, confusion, heartbreak, revelation, and release. She understands that many lives have been deeply impacted as a result of that single decision. Living with abortion’s guilt and shame is a killer, but you can come alive and discover the joy and freedom of forgiveness.

The children are waiting.

As I read this book, I could feel the forgiveness and Love that only Jesus can offer. It was very well written and backed up by scriptures that can be used in every day life struggles. I highly recommend this book.

This is a wonderful book for anyone to read, regardless of their past. Since we all have regrets in our past, its liberating to know about the love, mercy and grace of our living God Almighty. We cannot find peace in ourselves or people alone. Our Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, is the only way to true forgiveness and peace; the sacrifice that He made on Calvary is the soul cleansing needed to live in freedom. I know Neva Cairco personally and witness her walk of faith in Jesus with conviction of being set free from her past. That is priceless. Maybe you might know someone who needs this kind of assurance and this book will greatly help to find hope for a brighter future. Phyllis Wright

I knew Neva Williams when we attended Adrian College at the same time. Our fiances were fraternity brothers and good friends. We socialized with them and attended their wedding, but lost touch after they moved to California, where I believe Dave pursued a master's degree.

I was looking forward to reading her book to find out the paths that their lives took. I was disappointed that her story was short on specifics about her married years (grad school, jobs, places they lived, other challenges they faced). There was no mention as to Dave's reaction or part in her decision to end her pregnancy. Plus, there is no real picture of how she lived and supported post-divorce herself and her relationship with her ex-husband in raising their children. If one did not know Neva personally, it would be hard to connect with her because she did not really paint a clear picture of her life during her twenties and early thirties. Whether the vagueness was intentional or not, more information would have been helpful in following her life.

I knew that this book was going to be top heavy on the religious aspect of Neva's life. As someone who was in the mental health field for several years, I hoped that there would have been some reference as to an on-going development of self-awareness/behavior/decision making that was evidence-based. Whatever decisions she made were hers to own. Reflection, understanding and resolution are not dependent on the "forgiveness" of someone or something else.

On a final note, I wonder how Neva would have processed and dealt with her "shameful' secret without the omni-present religious component. Finding peace in one's life is a balancing act and can topple when too much influence of one aspect skews the other components.
