Waiting for the barista to prepare her coffee, she turned to see the man she had dreamed of walk in! She left and he followed. She threw coffee at him, causing him to slip on the ice, and she fled in her car. The next night, she pretended to be asleep but held a knife. He approached and she stabbed him and ran. Before she would get away, he materialized in front of her! Again and again, she was unable to escape. She drew a demon from her nightmares, but he knew what it was and took control. He let it attack her and she was astonished it had become “real” and able to kill her!
Lydon felt the cold in the room and knew she was being tracked by another group. He gave her the choice of coming with him or they both would die. And then he offered her what she truly wanted – help with her nightmares. He had a plan to free himself from the brotherhood; but it all depended on Kalila and her trusting him. Will she put her life on the line for him? Will he earn her trust to put his plan into motion? Or will they both face death for their treachery?
This was an awesome book! I was hooked immediately! The suspense grabs the reader from the start, trying to figure out who the characters are and the scope of their abilities. The main characters are strong and worthy foes. And the author builds the story so that the reader really wants them to succeed – but isn’t sure that’s possible. I highly recommend this book! It was a delight from start to finish!
So she is traced by Lydon the black V'alkara but to his surprise he is allured by her. Finds her to be amazing and fascinating. Even loves her although this is not what his kind are for and him especially. He is what every nightmare is made of. People fear and cower before him. But not Kalila she is stubborn and fights him every step. As she sends some unkind words to him she leaves doubts in his mind as to if she could ever love him and him hers. He still perseveres though. gives up his life for her twice no actually three times. He uses monsters from her dreams to protect her and even comes close to death so she can live. He convinces her to hate her at one point so that she can have a life. But as things unravel and she sees all his past statements were true things naggle at her. This is while he is being tortured. She realizes what he did and finds she cannot live without him. Took you long enough sistah...I mean come on. Problem being when she goes to rescue him, the v'alkara that she tells Lydon she likes the uncaring evil one is there and she comes up against him and the white. Alun the one that Lydon again risks everything to save for her is there as well and in the end he is manipulated by the White. Never thought white would be a evil colour while black turns out to be a beautiful array of rainbows and sunshine who knew. Anywhoo...to save Lydon or attempt to she summons Dax (the evil one) and he begins to feel her beauty within wash over him and he feels that she is his dreamcatcher. Meanwhile Lydon fights off death and claims the one he loves and she finally admits to him she cannot live without him and Dax finds her.
while this is going on Dunhle is the new white and changing the ways of the V'alkara and feels Dax is hers. Alun is in love with her. Gwen is I don't know at the moment and Mel is with the V'alkara.
A cliffhanging ending that has you wondering the conviction of her emotions and how much she will betray those she loves and how weak she will be. Fight dangit for Lydon he has gone through h e double hockey sticks for you!!!
a beautifully written love story that seems to end like Romeo and Juliet at least I hope this isn't the case in the end of this series but for now it looks to be. A great story with a wicked theme
I highly recommend this book if you like unique characters who overcome seemingly insurmountable obstacles to be together, you'll love this book.
