When I first used this product, I found out it shed tiny little splinters, which was disturbing since it might get in my food. So I emailed the manufacturer, and they told me to sand down the cutting boards and use mineral oil. Although I expected having to oil my boards at some point, I did not expect having to finish them myself. Brand new boards should not require this. Even after sanding and oiling, the board still feels quite coarse to touch, and I worry the splintering might still be happening.After oiling, I also noticed that there were some noticeable cracks in the boards at the seams as well as knife marks (I only used it once!). All I can say is, I guess you get what you pay for (though I'm not sure these boards are worth even that).

I am so glad I discovered these Royal Craft Wood cutting boards on Amazon. Extremely reasonably priced and exceptionally well made. I have used each of them often since I purchased them at the beginning of February. My knives do not become dull quickly like they used to do on other boards and they are easy to thoroughly clean. They are very attractive, I love to store them on a shelf where they can be seen. I am very proud of my new cutting board set!! Thank you for such a well made product!! : )

After oiling, I also noticed that there were some noticeable cracks in the boards at the seams as well as knife marks (I only used it once!). All I can say is, I guess you get what you pay for (though I'm not sure these boards are worth even that).

I bought this after seeing all the positive reviews for the product. Please don't. The quality is terrible. Less than two weeks into using the product and the wood has started cracking. This despite taking all the care that one would with a wooden board. In addition to the crack on the big board, the smaller ones are beginning to peel off. Unfortunately for me, it developed the crack two days after the return window closed. So let me save you the time and money and tell you- don't buy this one.
