I ordered 3 sets of these with no idea what to expect. By the size, I knew they were going to be small, but I could do something with them. They arrived packed very well and I fell in love with them instantly. The wood was a great color. There were a few places that had a blackish tint, but I personally think it added to the charm of the wood. It had a perfect thickness to it, not too thin that it would split when drilling holes, and not too thick so that it was bulky. The surface was smooth and I didn't need to do any extra sanding. I did carbon transfers of patterns to the wood by hand, then proceeded to wood burn the patterns. One piece had a dark spot on the wood, which I incorporated into my design. Once I used a sealant on the pieces, the blackish tint areas were almost invisible. I've attached pictures of the 4 sets I completed. Amazing items for this little random project and I will be purchasing more in the future!
I was a bit worried when I saw reviews that said they only received one of the 6 pieces shown. I even did a screen shot of the listing which seemed to me a bit confusing the way written. But I'm quite thrilled I received the full package of 6! I only paid, I think, $1.49 for all of them together which certainly seems a great buy! At that price, I kind of thought only one would arrive, They are certainly nice quality wood bases or plaques. My daughter does some sculpting and I thought she could use some. I just need one to try to put a new wedding date on a custom made piece I bought before Covid 19 changed everything. I will have to see how well that works out with my limited crafting skills. These are all nicely sanded with lovely wood grain. No coating or lacquer just natural unvarnished. Fairly thick and sturdy with a good selection of shapes. Small, but useful, and quite a steal at this price!

the quality is good for what I wanted but I received 1 of the advertised 6 pc. assortment. to me, 1 piece meant there are no seems in each piece and I expected 6 pieces. If they are only offering one, they should be more clear and also allow an option to choose which shape. I wont purchase from here again
I use these blocks to do artwork on for a nearby gallery. They need almost no sanding. They are smooth and easily accept paint and glues and all sorts of art media. I usually paint the whole thing with gesso or white acrylics. Then I paint or collage on top of them. Oh, before doing the detailed painting I measure and put marks so my husband can put a sawtooth hanger on the back. I actually sell a lot of them.
I used these little doors to make a busy board for my 1 year old son. They worked great and painted easily (I used spray paint), but one did split when I screwed in the hinge. In all fairness this could have been my error; I'm no carpenter, but I felt like the screw was far enough from the edge that it shouldn't have split the wood so easily. Either way, these are nice little doors/plagues for crafty projects.

These were perfect for what I needed. Our basement and pantry doors are right next to each other and people keeo getting then confused, so I wanted to have little plaques for the doors. Already made ones cost way too much do I figured I'd do it myself. Perfect sizes, and they only needed a little sanding on a few sides. It took the paint really well. I did receive the assortment of shapes as advertised.

I paint in acrylic paint on these and put a hanger for people to hang them on the wall. I use a gesso first then my paint color. I like these because I can paint the sides black as if they are framed. I did go over them a little bit with a piece of sandpaper to get any edges a bit smoother.
