So I ordered the Woodeze 4-Ton Electric Wood Splitter on Feb 14th, 2012. It arrived on the 17th. Used it today (Feb 18th).
I love it. Just take it out of the box (it's fully assembled), open the hydraulic air bleed valve, plug it in, and start splitting logs. When you're done, close the bleed valve and put it away. We put ours on a wooden work table to save us from squatting over the machine. Most logs just fall apart to either side of the machine before the end of the stroke. The ram retracts immediately when you let go of the button. It's great for making kindling; just run them through again. There's almost no noise. The sound of the logs splitting was louder than the machine.
I paid $306 total. Shipping included. Well worth it.
I recommend this to those looking for a small, easy to move and store, light duty, inexpensive splitter.
Update 10/14/2014: Device has become unreliable. The motor will not start about half the time - intermittent.
In a nutshell - for the money - this is a keeper. All my friends want to split wood when they come over now!
As a test I selected a 19 ½ x 13 log that had seasoned for a year in a sunless location. Still damp inside, it split easily. Within 90 seconds I had 10 pieces of kindling for my campfire.
This product sure beats the foot-operated 8-ton splitter I struggled with for 2 seasons. I highly recommend the Woodeze 4-Ton Electric Wood Splitter for home use.

Right out of the box, I split a cord. What a wonderful quiet little machine. It beats a sledge and a wedge hands down.Published 15 months ago by Geoffrey L. Neff
