hair stove. After you have spent the prerequisite $2479.00 you are ready to drive into your campsite and start roughing it. This book is not like that at all. It was an excellent guide for how to prepare for actually walking off into the wilderness. Great read. I will get it in paperback.
As other reviewers have noted, some sections are rather long winded. Most notable in the long winded area was snow shoes. While undoubtedly the author was in a position in which snow shoes would be necessary, that section didn't pertain to my needs or interests, so I glossed over it rather quickly.
I really enjoyed that the original illustrations were included in the digital version. That is something that is greatly lacking in other digital reproductions of different books in the wood/bushcraft genre.
Overall this was a great book that I will definitely be reading again to pick up any missed information. I wanted to give this book 4.5 stars, but I can't, so 4 stars it is.
Buy it, you won't be sorry!

While mostly outdated for the modern woodsman/camper. Still, a very interesting read. He writes with great clarity, you totally understand his techniques.Published 3 months ago by Joshua L. Hayes
