The screw holes I needed to fix are pretty small, relatively speaking, so I cut off just a sliver of the mesh with some old kitchen shears, worked it into the side of the hole, and worked the screws back in. And I could *immediately* tell the difference. Previously, when I tightened the screws, they held in place for a couple of pulls on the cabinet doors, but usually in the same day started working their way out. Without getting out a magnifying glass and flashlight to confirm, I believe the screws were just a little too short, the wood a little to soft, and the holes a little too used to really hold the screws well anymore. And this little kit made a huge difference.
This has got to be the easiest DIY fix I've ever done, and it required nothing more than a pair of old scissors, a few minutes, and a screwdriver.
UPDATE: It's now been about a month, and my cabinet doors are still hanging tight, just like they should be. Previously, when I'd tighten the screws holding the hinges, they were loose again after opening the cabinets maybe three times. But this teensy piece of metal screen made all the difference in the world, and I haven't had to go back and redo anything. This was an easy, affordable, awesome solution!
