We bought this as a toy guitar for my 2 1/2 year old son. He LOVES it! and we are quite happy with the purchase as well. It is standing up to a rambunctious kid and his little sister and it has a pleasant sound as well (mind you I wouldn't think this is much of an instrument for a serious musician but then for this cost - who would?). The downsides from a toy perspective are that the screws on the tuning pegs are rough which means it can scratch surfaces (ie coffee table) if the child isn't careful. Also we bought this for christmas and luckily received it a few weeks ahead of time so were able to put it up in the attic to air out outgas - the paint was particularly stinky when it arrived - makes me worry a little about what it was painted with -- since it isn't marketed as a childs toy they don't have the same regulations on product safety.

We purchased this as a toy for our two year-old, who loves guitars. He absolutely loves it! It's the perfect size for him. I don't think the overall appearance is high quality (crooked frets, streaks and smudges in the finish), but it does well as a toy. I don't know how well it would do as an actual instrument; we've tried to tune it, but it doesn't stay very well.

My review of the Woodstock Music Collection's Sopranino Ukulele. I forgot to mention the smell. Yes, as many reviewers have noted, it does have a strong turpentine/gasoline odor. It dissipates over time, but takes a while!

I bought two of these for my grandchildren who wanted to learn to play. I was an avid player at their age. Well, the ukeles will not stay tuned no matter how tight the screws are set. After one song, you lose your tuning. The girls lost interest in playing the chords they knew because they couldn't finish a song keeping the things tuned. both the same flaw. AdB

This is fine for a play instrument, but don't expect to play any real music on it. The way it is strung, a single long piece of nylon handles 2 strings. That means tuning is more difficult since the 2 are linked. But the intonation is pretty terrible anyway - the frets don't seem to be placed correctly. We bought it mostly for a small child to "play along" with music and pretend to be a rock star. It is a nice size for that. But that is all it is good for.

I bought this Ukulele for my grand daughter who wanted "a guitar" but is really not old enough to get her fingers around the neck of a guitar. It is well made and played pretty well. It is pretty well made, stays in tune and plays OK. Not for the serious musician, but good for what it costs.

My son LOVES his daddy's guitar and won't leave his sisters alone. So because he's young I wanted a ukulele (since they're cheaper then small guitars) that was inexpensive and decided on this one. What a piece of crap! You can't tighten the stings at all... they come off! I didn't even let him touch it, it's so bad it's going straight back. Spend a little more money and get something better - only thing this is good for is a bonfire and I don't mean playing next to it. Why can't I leave zero stars?

My 2 year old loves to play musical instruments. I bought this because it was simple and in a good price range for a 2 year old. The strings do seems flimsy and are plastic. This would not be a good purchase for someone that is serious about playing the ukele. I think that this is the perfect buy for what we need, which is something for our 2 year old to play with. His older siblings also like to play it as well.
