The people at in30minutes are onto something with the materials they are creating. This one has four panels on 8.5 x 11 high-quality card stock. There are three holes punched on the side to put in binders. But it is the contents that matter. This is for people who want a quick reference guide to the features of Word 2016 for Windows and Macs. The information is carefully organized with an overview containing information about what the different ribbons do, a section on the home ribbon, the insert ribbon, styles and themes, and much else including my favorite, a quick highlighted section on How to…with information on performing specific tasks.
My biggest concern about this Sheet was whether I could use it for earlier versions of Word. So I tried that out, and, no surprise, it worked exactly as it should have.
I should point out one limitation. There are (I’ve been told) advanced features of Word 2016 and some apps that this reference sheet doesn’t cover. But for ordinary users such as students in high school or college or writers or ordinary people who, for example, write letters, this Sheet is a time saver precisely because it is so easy to use and so brief. Indeed, the Microsoft Word 2016 Reference & Cheat Sheet would make a great gift for students graduating high school and heading off to college.
While I have taken college classes on using the Microsoft Office Suite (in 2010), I still cannot claim to be an expert. But even if you’re not a complete novice, everyone can use a little refresher from time to time. This Word 2016 Reference & Cheat Sheet is perfect for giving you essential pointers while drafting up Word documents or editing/formatting existing documents. You can quickly reference almost any of the basic formatting options you will need within the 4 concise pages. This guide expands on the first two ribbon sections in Word; the Home Ribbon and the Insert Ribbon. There are about 7 other ribbon sections that will not be touched upon, but I mostly tend to use the first two ribbons while using Word.
The guide does a great job of breaking down each option with easy to understand descriptions. It also has a fantastic How-To page that shows you step by step how to do basic tasks within Word. And if you really have a great appreciation for shortcuts like I do, then you will likely also appreciate the Keyboard Shortcuts page on the back of the guide that shows you the Universal Shortcuts that work in both Windows and Mac operating systems, as well as separated shortcut codes broken down individually for Windows users AND Mac users.
So no matter what system you are using or skill level you possess, you will find this helpful Word 2016 Reference & Cheat Sheet guide the perfect addition to your library. This instructional guide is also printed on durable card stock material and is 3-hole punched, so it is perfect to keep in a 3-ring binder. In fact, I personally believe this guide should be used in every school and classroom around the country to better help people understand how to best utilize Microsoft Word 2016.
***I received this item from the company for review purposes. This is my honest & unbiased review based on my personal experience using this particular product.***
used Word before, or possess a limited knowledge as to using a PC .... for them, this sheet may be the ultimate help. For others, who
do possess PC knowledge, not knowing Word 2016 is probably not an issue. Finding help online is easy, fast .... So, even though I think
the cheat sheet is well organized and a good reference for beginners, more seasoned users may find it too "simple".
