Just bought and began to use this lock for indoor use. Seems well-enough made. The dials do not contain every letter and cannot be swapped out, so word choice is somewhat limited. I would have preferred a mix of letters and numbers. But it's easy to use.

I would not use this for any application in which real security is needed. A couple of whacks with a hammer and this thing would come to pieces.

Addendum, 9/2013, a year and a half later.

It's still a nice little lock. You have to be a bit careful when closing it, though, because it isn't very hard to reset the code. Then you'll find yourself locked out. Not hard to fix, as it's usually only one letter off. But kinda irritating to be standing there in the locker room, struggling with the thing.

This fits in a standard gym locker. Some of the other locks I got weren't long enough to clip into the loop. Love this thing.

excellent little lock! Not all words are possible, but you will certainly be able to make a memorable word for your lock.

The combination failed after 4 weeks and had to be cut off. I think the technique used to customize the code was poorly designed leading to so many of these locks failing.

I bought this lock thinking I'll try some different, what a mistake. After you set the word on the lock. It seems real simple right.
You use it and you shouldn't have to think about it, just remember the word you made up. wrong… the problem with this word lock is, if you happen to leave the lock bar open and you move it just the right way and you move the letters it reset the word. And if you lock it not realizing you reset the word, there is no way to open it. You have reset the lock to what ever the letters were line up to. There is no default to open the lock. You are permanently lock out. Stick with the tried and true combo lock. You're better off.

Worthless... used it for a couple of months then what do you know? IT wouldn't open anymore and had to have it broken off by the gym.

Love this lock. It is so much easier to open than traditional dial-type combo locks. Great for frequent trips from the gym floor back to the locker for a drink of protein juice, etc. Very solidly build/high quality.

Works well, easy to set the combination. Many easy-to-remember words are possible; the lady of the house will love "mink"
