App is currently outdated here compared to the Play Store. Works as intended but changing most settings crashes the app for me (evo 3D). Fix these and it will be excellent.

I have been using this app since I first got my G1 4 years ago and it is a great workout app. However, the version in the amazon store is not the most current version. It will not work right on ice cream sandwich. There are more up to date versions of this app elsewhere.

First of all, why are people rating an app that they refuse to download? No one cares what you think! Now for the app (I actually use it 4 to 5 times a week), I love this app! It can track many different types of activities and can calculate an estimate of the amount of calories you've burned. It has music controls integrated into the app itself so you don't have to keep going back and forth between apps. If you have a bluetooth heart rate sensor, then you can use it with this app. The website for the app keeps a private record of your workouts (if you choose to submit them) and can be linked to your Google Health account. The GPS tracking works much better than RunKeeper, and you can change the sensitivity to adjust for your phones GPS ability.

To make sure you get an accurate calorie reading, make sure you set your current weight in the settings. If you don't want this app to run in the background then just don't schedule any workouts and turn off all the reminders and notifications, it's common sense (In other words, if you set an alarm on your phone you can't get upset because the clock is running in the background!).

People complain about the permissions without using the app or using common sense. The app uses the contact list in case you want to share your workouts with other people, it lets you post them to Facebook as well, if you choose.

I have been using this app for a few months now to track my cardio workouts. I like the interface and the way you can record your workouts easily and can view them online. I think it is a fantastic app and would have given it at least a four star rating except that the GPS function is very spotty for my phone. I have an HTC EVO 4G and no matter what GPS sensitivity I put the app at, my GPS signal seems to always go out. During my last 60 minute run around my neighborhood, every time I looked at the app, the GPS was searching for a signal and was not able to tell me my speed, or distance, or where I was. I think during the entire hour-long run, the app updated my position about a dozen times total, so instead of accurately tracking a 60 minute, six mile run, the app tells me that my average speed was 7.8 mph, and only went 4.1 miles. The map was also highly inaccurate since the GPS dropped out so much. I don't think it's my phone, since my GPS works with Google Maps even inside my own house, and I even downloaded JogTracker whose GPS worked perfectly even in my pocket during the run! CardioTracker's GPS would not even get a strong signal when I was walking at a 2.5 mph pace while holding out my phone at arm's length (I feel really goofy when I do this while running).

So now, CardioTracker only serves as a cardio workout log app for me, and I use JogTracker to accurately track my outdoor runs' pace, distance, etc. It's too bad because I really want CardioTracker to work because I like being able to choose my music within the app and I think the calorie burned estimate for me is pretty accurate. I hope this is a bug and not my phone and can get fixed in a future update. Are there any other EVO 4G users out there with similar problems?

I've been using this app (actually, the Pro version) for months now, usually a few times a week for running. It worked great on my old phone, but when I got an upgrade, it suddenly started crashing every time I wanted to access any feature in the settings menu. Now I can't change the GPS update frequency, stride length, etc. without the program completely failing. When I emailed the devs about this, I got an automated message back saying that they were too small (workforce-wise) and too busy working on another app to address the issue anytime soon.

I still really like the app, but if you're going to buy the pro version and it ends up not working well on your fancy new phone, you've been warned.

The version here on Amazon keeps crashing under Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich), sometimes closing without saving your workout. :(

A much newer version is available on the Android Market (now called the Play Store), which works fine with ICS (and thankfully, with the Pro module I snagged on Amazon awhile back).

I'll happily update this review to 5 stars once the newer version shows up here.

I use this product to track all my workouts. You can log them manually or you can use the GPS function of your phone to track your distance and speed. My mom and I use it on the beach when we go walking.

This CardioTrainer Ap seems to start when it wants to, not when I start it. The little voice tells me "Ready, set, go." I go and half way through my walk the voice tells me to begin. What?! I did that already. Half of my walk...not recorded. Denied. Guess I won't be using this Ap again.
