With opening question ‘Why waste energy on bad workouts and the wrong diet, when there are simple ways to improve your efficiency, strength and even your time spent in the gym?’ we get the gist of this practical time considerate book of his of ‘33 best science-backed “hacks” that will help you get in shape not only faster but also with a clear understanding on what’s important and what is pure fluff. All of the tips are easy to understand and can be implemented by beginners and experienced lifters alike.’
Felix steps in with a book that he divides into three sections – Exercise, Diet and Motivation - and how to implement these to focus on critical factors, another way of saying get the most out of our training with the least amount of effort. Sound too good to be true? Then this is definitely the advice book to follow. In Part One – Exercise he discusses free weights as opposed to machines, correct breathing, the time of the cardio workout, the use of resistance bands, rest periods etc. In Part Two - Diet and Nutrition he addresses what to eat and how to prepare it, what to buy that helps the time scale of this aspect of our training, and in Part Three – Motivation he encourages having a workout partner, how to time workouts, making goals and sharing them. The remainder of the book is devoted to explaining exercises complete with easy to understand diagrams of each exercise with the dos and don’ts well outlined
The key to Felix’s concept is how to get the body you want with the most time conscious means of eating and working out. This is a smart book, written by an obvious fact based and considerate of our time trainer and it is well worth reading and implementing. At book’s end he offers a Video Program free to his readers. One click and you’re there! Grady Harp, October 16
My biggest obstacle in using this book, however, lies in the fact I cross referenced information and suggestions because of gender. Female fitness stats vary considerably.
I found it thought provoking and great discussion points for my own trainer.
