Review
"This text is superior to all other texts I have used in my classes over the years. It is rich, stimulating and fleshes out [the] time period for readers. I would recommend this hands down over any other text."

This begs the question: How can two American university professors, individuals privileged to grow up in a country with freedom of speech and thought, portray to American college students such gross manipulations of a terrible truth now accepted the world over, that Stalin starved his people into compliance with his system of state control over every aspect of their lives? I mean, they had to resort to eating their dead! All of that is THEIR fault?!
That's to say...this textbook leans over Marx right into Stalin's lap. What a surprise! Be sure you know what you're buying. I love the topic of world history, and I love the idea of populations all over the world struggling against authoritarianism to being free. So, this Marxist take on world history made me feel ill. Read at your own risk. Or, have a red pen handy to make textual corrections.
So, be careful with the books of this publisher. They might look on the website quite different and in real life they can fail to coincide with the content being publicized.
