I got a 14 day free trial of the basic game from my son, enjoyed it so much I bought the Battle Chest to get basic and Burniung Crusade expansion pack. If you like on-line play, WOW is an excellent game for you, but be advised, WOW is not an off-line playable game. Blizzard has hone a very good job of making your game play enjoyable. There are many races and basic types of character to let you pick and choose (be aware though that if you plan to play with friends, you must create your character in the realm where your friends character is, as realm changes are about $25). Also, each realm is a duplicate world of the others and each starting point for a given race is the same. I have found the game play very good, though on occasion, some characters (NPC) you run into are either beyond your capabilities, or will strain your character to the limit to win. Also beware of getting into a PvP situation unless you want to, I got drawn into one with a character who was about level 60 (I'm level 32), because he was attacking the post where I happened to be, and was slaughtering the NPC guards who were about level 35, all I did was cast a heal on one of the guards, and his minion killed me in 1-2 blows. I got indirect revenge though, when I returned to respawn, I let the PvP counter run down (which takes you out of PvP mode) before respawning, and I watched as he mistakenly got in the attack range of the travel master (she, as they all are, is a level 85 elite with a couple of minions that are the same level), the attacker got smacked flat in one blow!! To sum up, if you like on-line play, give Blizzards WOW a try, they have done a great job. I'm on Mok'Natal and Trollbane, in the horde, main characters Tirgra and Patrioly in the respective realms, look me up if you join. ^_^

Bought for someone else. Honestly, Blizzard had a good thing, and is making it worse. Lich King was good, as was Cataclysm. Pandaria was a utter joke. When a game goes kiddie and uses other original work to make their game, they loose respect. Can't see ever buying this again, even if for someone else. Friends don't let friends play WoW.

Experience World of Warcraft ban twice now, and been playing since my father, his excellence, took me to that shanty mall on that November day. It was sold out everywhere, why had Toys R' Us failed a 15 year old on that day? And then that mall, sigh, what a day, the day. The day my life was absorbed into a video game throughout my high school life.
I rate it five stars, so is that bad then that I lost my life? Am I bad to lose my life? No, probably not. Who're you asking, the puritan or laid-back luke? Considering my private school was 20 miles away supporting the extreme stereotypes of Academics and Sports, well, World of Warcraft was the best escape my life could have then. It provided my own freedom and friends when life failed to share any interest in such fantasy. The students playing Magic the Gathering at my school, deemed the under the stairs kids.

So, before I get back to mid-terms and take my eyes off this new World of Warcraft Battle Chest to open at a time for unlimited escape, I want to reflect on what it means as a college student entering post adolescence.
World of Warcraft is just a way for any individual to enter their own community and immerse into it with their imagination. One can become addicted to anything, so must I mention you HAVE to plan at some point when to play, but who wants to marry and then whine within about 'oh the college days... ::sigh::', or 'my life was the greatest, until I got married. I can't do them anymore.' So then, what would you do at that point, let academic papers and peoples pressure push you into something? That peer pressure is what people use at parties to force alcohol down your throat.
There's two extremes, i'm not a spiritualist sharing the method of balance or the western rationalist measuring two items on the measuring tape; BUT, play in awareness.. Set your goals in game, and be aware of who you are at a stage when nothings putting a bind or unbind on you. People that don't play the game at all can say it will send you down a 'pit of fire and people that play too much can lose sight of their goals --- lose the point of what they're doing, then the fun goes in the basket... entering a process or a chain of simplicity in, "I want this, then that, then - oh, it's 2 AM."

In a timeline sense, World of Warcraft is just something new hitting mainstream, rap music was bad in the 90's, and who knows what's next or you can analyze what society has deemed bad in the past as it still mingles in the mainstream.
If you do buy, ENJOY your journey through the Worlds of Warcraft. Make friends, achieve some things, be yourself.. fulfill yourself. =D

I joined my friend in World of Warcraft by downloading the free recruit a friend trial from the website. I enjoyed my time spent with her, and since my characters are still fairly low level, I figured that the original game and the Burning Crusade expansion will keep me busy for a while. I wasn't really interested in the books that come with the battle chest box, as they are of course all out of date now, but it was a better deal than buying each box seperately, and so I picked this option.

I was pleasantly surprised when the 30 days that come with the box were added on top of the remaining six days of my free trial, bringing me up till the end of January for my subscription. All I had to do was enter the two game codes (one for base game, and one for burning crusade) into my Battle.Net account, and I was set. I never even broke the seal on the disc to install from it; the free trial was the complete game, up to at least BC, and I suspect all the data for Wrath of the Lich King is already on my computer, but not unlocked yet, as I haven't purchased that expansion.

I was also pleased that I didn't have to give Blizzard any credit card info to continue playing the game, I just told them I'd be using game cards, and did not put one in right away. Having played EverQuest and other Sony Online Entertainment games, I was not used to this! In my experience, they wanted some kind of card right away.

I'm coming to the end of my free days, and I do plan on getting a game time card to continue my subscription, as it's been fun playing this MMO with my friend, and I'm currently just about level 30, without really trying all that hard.

公式のデジタルダウンロードショップで、Vプリカ使用で全て購入可能な事を、すべて自分で確認しております。少なくとも、

・基本パッケージ(無印＋TBC＋WOTLK＋カタクリ含む)
・ミストオブパンダリア。
・ゲームタイム30日。
・25ドル課金マウント。

上記のデジタルダウンロード版は全て、日本に住んでいる私が、『Vプリカで購入できています。』　
バニラVisaはまだ使ったことがありません。今度試してみます。

それがしっかり、バランスが取れた状態で実装されているのが、「なんとか１４」との違いでしょうか。

【PVP】Ticon鯖のプロプレイヤー()が増え、数年前よりも激しさは増しています。
・バトルグラウンドは現在１１種類だったかな。
パンダ新規追加BGは３種類。せまめのパワーゲームも増え、面白いです。

・アリーナ
現状はどちらかというと、レートBGにプロの比率が多く流れている気がするので、
アリーナの方が(以前よりは)カジュアル系です・・あくまで比較するとで・・

あきらめよう日本。
非常に厳しいです。プロ率がとても高い気がします。

ブリザードストアのデジタルダウンロード版バトルチェストに関してですが、
『無印＋BURNING CRUSADE＋WRATH OF THE LICH KING』まで3作含まれることになりました。

この製品である、パッケージ版バトルチェストに関してですが、
各店が、
昔のバトルチェスト(無印＋BC)を出品しているのか、
最新のバトルチェスト(無印＋BC＋リッチキング)を出品しているのかは謎です。
各店に問い合わせてみるのが良いかと思います。

最近は『Vプリカ』という便利なものもできましたし、ダウンロード版でもいいかもしれませんね。

その場合、追加して『カタクリズム＋パンダリア』を買えば全て揃います。

さて3.3アップデートで、
「サーバ間を超えて、人を集めてセットアップし、即ダンジョンに入れる」というランダムダンジョンシステムが実装されました。
他のオンラインゲームでは到底無理なシステム・・・ ブリザード社、素晴らしいですね。

WOTLKでRaidBossが簡単になりすぎた、ということもあったのですが、今回中々手ごわいBossが実装されました。
新規の人からすれば 十分すぎる歯ごたえかと。

WOWはRaidだけでなく、様々な遊び方ができるのが特徴ですね。

・全クラス、ソロで80達成可能 (現在はダンジョン組み易くなったので D行った方がお得です)
・全クラス ダメージ役が可能。 (プリーストなのにダメージトップとか日常茶飯時)
・初心者でも行き易い5manダンジョン。
・中級上級者には、10man、25man、10manハード、25manハード。 段階的に区切られていて分かり易い。

・バトルグラウンドでの集団対人戦が熱い 手軽に参加できる (サーバ間超えての、10vs10 15vs15 40vs40 100vs100)
・BGで満足できない人に、極める事ができなさすぎる、世界のトッププレイヤーとのアリーナ戦 (2vs2 3vs3 5vs5)

どちらかといえば、「wowは対人戦のが面白いゲームだとは思います」が
楽しみ方は自由自在。コンテンツは豊富です。

中レベルくらいまではソロでやったほうがいいですが、
慣れてきたら日本人ギルドに入ったほうが、色々楽しめると思います。

アドオンを Curse.com から見つけて入れるとゲームが色々楽になります。
Questhelper、QuestJapanizer、の2つ入れれば英語出来なくても問題ありません。

あとは、他の方が書いているとおり、
Macでも できるMMOということで、中々、貴重なようですね。

日本ではサービスしていないので、通販で買って海外のサーバーでプレイするしかないのですが、
バランス、世界観、操作性などよく練り込まれていて、素晴らしいゲームだと思いました
ユーザー世界一は伊達じゃないです
有志の作ったアドオンによって、クエストも日本語訳された環境でプレイできますし、ソロでも十分に楽しいです

グラフィックのセンスが日本人向けでは無いので日本でのサービスは無理でしょうが、
ゲームの本質を楽しみたいなら是非プレイしてみてください
