About the Author
CHELSEA MONROE-CASSEL is the co-author of the New York Times bestseller A Feast of Ice and Fire: The Official Game of Thrones Companion Cookbook. A lifelong artist and fan of fantasy, Chelsea discovered her love of interesting food during a year living abroad in Turkey. Like the literature and fictional settings she loves, Chelsea’s work is a synthesis of imagination and historical research. Applying her multifaceted creativity to that passion has led her to a career of transforming imaginary foods into reality. She greatly enjoys foreign languages, treasure hunting, history, and all things related to honey. She and her husband currently live in an old Vermont house with a retired hound and a sturdy Manx cat.

I will be making the Meat Pie tomorrow! So im super excited for this. I will also update and post a picture of it as well!
Enjoy guys and i hope you it goes better for you than poor Nomi! (My husband told me if i burnt any of it my new nickname would be Nomi, Womp
Night number 2 - I made the Meat Pie. Sooo Amazing! After eating the pie crust (never made my own pie crust before, just always bought it) I will never buy another pie crust, It was soo good, Flaky and just had that homemade delicious taste to it!
Now, this may seem simple to people if you did not know that I rarely cook anything from scratch, and when I do it 99% of the time involves beef or pasta or both, because as a general rule, that is about all I like to eat. I'm not a fan of chicken, fish, or pork.
We've all been putting on weight and decided we wanted to eat healthier, and I decided if anything could inspire me to try my hand at cooking it would be a cookbook inspired by a game I love to play.
So I bought chicken, bread crumbs, and other ingredients not already in my kitchen and went to work. 30 minutes later, these little guys were pulled out of my oven looking all golden brown and delicious.
My husband and daughter loved them, and surprisingly enough, so did I! I didn't even need to dip them in anything. The seasoned crust was so flavorful that they didn't need it.
So, I can pronounce my first attempt at making a chicken dish from scratch a rousing success!
I am actually excited to cook more! And believe me, that's a huge accomplishment for someone who usually cooks a lot of processed food.
On to healthier and happier bodies!
The recipes are very easy to follow, although, being Australian, I have to avail myself of Google and scribble the appropriate measurements and temperatures into the recipes as we don't work in Fahrenheit, pounds and sticks of butter etc. I also found the recipes easy to adapt to individual tastes and/or cheaper products (like substituting chicken for turkey).
Obviously, the whole layout and the way the World of Warcraft is being integrated into the book is a treat in itself. I've got a lot of cookbooks, and many just sit on the shelf, gathering dust. This one, I'm sure, will not be one of them. Already have about half of what I need for the Savoury Deviate Delight. I'll be giving this a shot on Saturday or Sunday.
