Alexandra (Lexi) Marquart moved in with a friend when her husband was killed in the war. The ranch she and her daughter are living on belongs to the family of her very best childhood friend, but it is in danger of being lost with no men or money to work it. The family scattered to the for corners during the war.
A short but exciting historical western that ties in nicely with the World of de Wolfe series. Our hero has a really important decision to make. Stay as a lone wolf or run with the pack.
Wolfe is a bounty hunter and the brothers of a criminal tracked him to the ranch and chaos starts. The ghost of Wolfe's ancestor helps him and he realizes home and love are important. Of course the author, Elizabeth Wolfe, put in her usual twists and turns and makes a really great short story.
