Probably the biggest complaint about this game is that you are forced to use the Wii motion controller on its side. This is not a problem, just the biggest problem of the small issues (which is a good thing). I would prefer to play this game using the classic controller but instead, you are basically using an old-school NES layout. The problem with this is that the directions to move your worm AND the camera are one and the same. Difference between the intention lies if you are holding down the back button or not. I don't like this and while I am sort of used to it, it would be nice to have two different toggles and it's surprising that they didn't work this in.
This is a highly recommended game for anyone who likes the series or enjoys simple strategy games (Lemmings or Angry Birds fans must check this out!). I grew up addicted to Battle tank and Lemmings and Worms combines the two. Any complaints about this game are minimal and wont effect liking it more or less - just small issues. While you can download this for your computer and enjoy without CD loading time and with full HD graphics, you can't beat the multiplayer online option with Battle Island, which is more than worth it.
PROS:
*play online multiplayer
*classic gameplay: this is the game you love
*lots of training and random missions aside from deathmatches
CONS:
*cant connect/play with classic controller
*less game customizable options that earlier versions
*Camera movement is more annoying than it should be
*Needs a 3rd zoom option since its not full HD (compared to computer)
*Teams have a max of 4 worms instead of 5
*bad background music (not that you blast the music or anything)
*no leaves falling to show wind (a better guide than the arrows)
Only have a few gripes with it. Customization is kinda crap. Only get to use one item to make your worms look different. The worms you fight in the story don't seem to have that restriction. I also ran into a problem creating custom weapons. If you go through multiple versions and try to save the game, the Wii freezes. I could write this off to my Wii being pulled off the entertainment center a few times. The last thing I had a problem with was the story. Yeah worms fighting and story. Haha. No the main problem was the levels. For the most part they are pretty easy. There are a couple though, while fun, required several restarts. That is where my gripe is. I wish they would of started off easy and worked up to where I needed to keep trying again.
Story mode is interesting and a nice change. Customizability is there if you want it but not necessary, as it should be.
Even has the ability to create your own weapons - not sure how interesting that's going to be based on my first efforts, but it gives you one new approach.
Definitely my favorite Wii game.
