Unfortunatly, the practical part is very weak. Common suggestions about exercise, music, meditation can relieve a bit but not solve the problem.
When psychologists will understand the immense power of Emotional Freedom Techniques (Eft invented by Gary Craig), accept the astonishing results that this technique allowed to reach both physically and mentally (for example on Vietnam Veterans) and will start to use it with the psychological knowledge, than these books will really help people to heal themself.
Till then, the frustrations about what the books promises and can't keep will unfortunatly not do very much about human suffering.
Anyway, i suggest, as i did, to read the book (the theoretical part) and to tap with eft whenever you feel strong emotions. That will really make changes!
In Karol's book she recommends listening to music to improve you mood. All working is negative
