I loved this book. I devoured it in less then a day. Once I started I had a really hard time putting this book down. I really liked the storyline of this book. This book is about learning to forgive ones self and learning to love and let others in.
I have a special place in my heart for this book and it will stay on my kindle forever and never pushed back to the cloud...I WILL be reading it again! Brilliant work

I've noticed recently that books featuring MMA fighters are in abundance right now. Having read several in this trope I have discovered that some of them are really good and some of them are REAL-LY bad. Worth The Fight was definitely worth the risk with lots of tender romance and hot sex this book was a Knockout.

Elle and Nico were one of those couples that make you fall in love with them instantly. From their first meeting I had butterflies in my belly that stayed throughout the story. I loved how Nico shook up everything Elle tried to keep structured in her life. He wouldn't allow her to run from her feelings and after a while she didn't want to. God, if there was ever a character to empathize with it would be Elle. She watched for years as her father abused her mother and that left some serious scars with her after one deadly night when she was a child. I think out of both these characters her tragedy was a bit more emotional in my opinion. I was pretty heart broken to discover exactly what happened to her as a child. I can't imagine being in her position especially having to live with what happened every day. She's had to live her life devoid of any emotion because she feels as if she's a monster who doesn't deserve it. That's why she is with William. A handsome guy with a lot going for him who satisfies her physical needs and nothing else. I was happy to find that William wasn't much an issue once she began something special with Nico. Elle was one of those characters that was so damn strong she needed an equally strong man to break her defenses down completely and make her feel again.

Which brings me to the man himself. The tanned and tattooed green eyed hottie Nico Hunter.

I don't know what it is about this book but it just didn't do it for me. The sex scenes are hot and steamy but that's probably all I care about. The chemistry between Nico and Elle is lacking. To me, there's no romance. I just see two people that are really attracted to each other sexually and having great sex along the way. The dialogue sucks big time. For one I don't like how the writer has Elle say what they talked about as opposed to actually reading the conversation. It'll go something like "We sat on the couch and cuddled while he told me stories of his brothers". I want to read the actual conversation and see how they respond to each other intellect or show some flirtatious banter between the characters. Also, I feel like some of the scenes were just cut off. It seem like the writer is in the middle of the scene and then it ends and we're back to Nico's chapter or Elle's chapter. Overall I like a good steamy love story but I like romance more. When you can see the romance between two characters you feel like they really love each other. It makes the sex scenes seem more realistic and more hot. Oh and lastly, the dirty talk was horrible. Nobody talks like that during sex or when they are about to have sex. I only got to about 50% before I decided I'm no longer interested. I don't usually give books a bad review but this one is a pass for me.

It's rare that a book comes along that deserves a 5 star rating. I've been disappointed many times, books that promised that sparkle, only to be a fizzle. Can anything top other reads I thought were five star (Crossfire series, The Blackstone Affair, Edge of Never, Honor Student Series, Real, Connected) sometimes I read the synopsis of reads, going into it thinking it's gonna be good, but I'm disappointed. And I've been disappointed many times. I took a chance on Worth The Fight, & I'm glad I did! I absolutely loved it! It kept my interest from beginning to end. It was endearing, heart-wrenching, & beautiful. I was caught up in the characters, their struggles, & how they overcame & help to heal each other. The author wrote like u were in the book feeling what the characters were feeling, very descriptive, I understood why Elle loved Nico, I saw what she saw, which is rare in most books. Definetely a good book you won't be disappointed. I'm now looking forward to more reads from this author :)

It was a good story. I liked the characters and the plot.

I'm shocked that this book was professionally edited, and if I were the author I would change editors stat.
There were so many places in this book where the periods should have been commas, and it gave much of the book a stilted, robotic feel.
There were too many sentences that were started with "and" and "but". Beginning sentences that way should be done sparingly.

I was also taken aback by some of the word usage, such as:

"Throws of passion..." (at 42%) which should obviously be "Throes of passion"
"Lathering it with attention" (at 82%) which is just awkwardly put. Did the author mean "laving"?

I probably wouldn't have been so nitpicky about the poor editing if the editor wasn't listed right next to the author's name by the title. I feel like my review may be slightly unfair to the author since I spent most of it critiquing the editing, but I believe that if you're going to sell a book for $3.99 and claim that it's professionally edited- the product should reflect that. This doesn't read as a professionally edited book.
